Happy New Year! How are you feeling about 2026?
Every year, I sit down and think about what I want the next twelve months to feel like. Not just what I want to do, but how I want to move through my life — how I want my days to feel.
I have to admit, 2025 was a big year for me (in a good way), and it left me feeling a little blocked when it comes to thinking ahead.
But one word kept coming up again and again when I tried to think about the future:
Fun.
Not reckless fun. Not “say yes to everything and burn out” fun. But the kind of fun that comes from feeling grounded, curious, rested, and confident enough to actually enjoy my life.
After a few years of focusing on stability, growth, and responsibility, I’m ready to let things feel lighter. These are the intentions I’m carrying into 2026.
My Word for 2026: FUN
For me, fun isn’t about doing more — it’s about enjoying more.
It’s about following curiosity without guilt, taking care of myself so I have the energy to say yes, and remembering that joy doesn’t need to be earned or justified. Fun can be the point.
With that in mind, here’s what I’m focusing on this year.
Supporting My Energy & Feeling Good in My Body
In 2026, I want to feel good in my body in ways that are sustainable and kind.
I’m letting go of extremes and focusing instead on consistency, movement, and rest — the things that help me feel energized rather than depleted.
This year is about supporting my body so I can show up for my life and actually enjoy it.
Strengthening My Inner Life & Self-Confidence
A big part of fun, for me, is feeling steady and confident on the inside.
In 2026, I want to continue looking inward in ways that feel supportive rather than critical. I’m prioritizing self-reflection, emotional well-being, and practices that help me trust myself more fully.
Not because I need fixing — but because self-trust makes everything else feel lighter.
Less Screen Time, More Presence
If I’m being honest, screens have taken up more space in my life than I’d like. In 2026, I want to be more present in my days, my routines, and the quiet moments in between.
I’m focusing on being more intentional with how I spend my attention, creating space for reading, thinking, and simply being without constant input.
I don’t want to miss my own life while scrolling through someone else’s.
Curiosity, Play & Doing Things Just Because
This is where the word fun really comes alive.
In 2026, I want to follow my curiosity wherever it leads — without guilt or the need to justify it. I want to do things simply because they’re interesting, enjoyable, or spark something in me.
Not everything needs to be productive. Sometimes, enjoyment is enough of a reason.
Care, Ritual & Treating Myself Well
Taking care of myself isn’t something I want to earn — it’s something I want to maintain.
This year, I’m treating rest, care, and small rituals as part of everyday life rather than something reserved for burnout or reward. Feeling grounded and cared for helps everything else fall into place.
Connection, Social Life & Openness
In 2026, I want to show up socially with more openness and playfulness.
That means creating space for connection, saying yes more often, and allowing relationships — new and old — to unfold naturally. I’m focusing less on outcomes and more on experiences, trusting that showing up is enough.
Creative Projects & Making Things
I also want to keep making things — some meant to be shared, some meant only for me.
This year is about finishing personal projects, letting creativity be fun again, and allowing myself to explore ideas without pressure.
Creating doesn’t always need an audience to matter.
I’m not trying to reinvent myself in 2026. I’m choosing to enjoy the version of me that already exists — with more curiosity, more presence, and a lot more fun.
There’s still room for growth, of course. But this year, joy is part of the plan.
Here’s to lighter days, interesting rabbit holes, and choosing fun — on purpose.
What’s your word or theme for 2026? I’d love to know! Regardless, I’m wishing you a very happy New Year!
