Simple summer mocktail recipes.

I spent a good part of 2018 sober, and 2019 is looking very similar. Why? Because working on my mental health means paying close attention to what I put into my body. Plus, I have so many things going on, I often don’t have the luxury of having drinks — I’m such a lightweight these days that even one cocktail can waste away an entire night (or day).

However, I’ve done plenty of drinking over the years, and I can tell you that at the end of the day — or sometimes for the brunch hour — I crave a really good drink that I can sip from a nice glass. Especially now that summer is near… it only seems right to stay hydrated in delicious ways.

So, I’ve been whipping up mocktails — some just using whatever I have on-hand, some following recipes for a specific taste. Here’s a few recipes I thought you guys might like:

New Mother Mocktail

Mix equal parts apple, cranberry and orange juice. Serve with crushed ice and orange slices. Yum! — Recipe from Culinary Hill

Extra-Sparkly Kombucha

Add fresh grapefruit and lime juice to your favorite raspberry kombucha for a super refreshing sip! — Recipe from Wholesome Patisserie

Sparkling Kiwi Mocktail

Blend one kiwi, pineapple juice and raw honey until smooth. Top with a can of lemon LaCroix and fresh mint. Serve over ice. — Recipe from Physical Kitchness

Grapefruit + Rosemary Mocktail

Pour grapefruit juice into a glass and add a squeeze of lemon and lime. Top with your favorite sparkling water and serve with a sprig of rosemary. — Recipe from A Beautiful Mess

Mock Champagne Punch

Mix ginger ale, pineapple juice and white grape juice to make faux champagne! Garnish with a raspberry if you’re feeling extra fancy. — Recipe from Love Bakes Good Cakes

Lavender Lemonade

A twist on a classic favorite — mix water, sugar, honey and lemon juice with dried lavender. Add a few drops of food coloring for an extra bright look. — Recipe from The Cookie Rookie

For some even simpler mocktails, you can opt to get stuff that’s already bottled. I’ve been guzzling kombucha, sparkling water and even just fruit-forward iced tea (all separately, not mixed) to spice up my beverage life.

Here are some of my favorites:

– Trader Joe’s Watermelon Mint Black Tea (serve with a few fresh mint leaves)

– Coconut La Croix (squeeze a lime wedge for some zest)

– Healthade Kombucha (I love the Pink Lady Apple, Rose, and Jalapeño-Kiwi-Cucumber)

– Nature’s Nectar Mojito Limeade & Red Sangria Cooler

Sparkling Ice Cherry Limeade

ROAR Electrolyte Water (so far, my favorite flavors are cucumber-watermelon, pineapple-mint, and Georgia Peach)

Mingle Mocktails (there’s a melon mojito, blackberry hibiscus Bellini, and cranberry cosmo)

…Those are the ones I’ve been loving lately! Are there non-alcoholic drinks you guys enjoy? If so, leave a comment and let me know — cheers!
