As soon as I finished reading “To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before”, I wanted to watch the Netflix movie! I downloaded it and watched it during my flight to New York.
Before I go any further, here is the super simple description of the movie from Netflix:
When her secret love letters somehow get mailed to each of her five crushes, Lara Jean finds her quiet high school existence turned upside down.
I felt like the movie did the book justice – in fact, the movie may have been just a liiiittttle bit better than the book.
If you read my review of the book, I thought the voice was a little too young to qualify for a 16-year-old. But the movie, in this aspect, was right on point.
In the book, I loved Lara Jean’s little sister, Kitty, and I loved her character in the movie, too. I also enjoyed the dad much more in the movie than I did in the book.
If you’ve read the book – or even if you haven’t read the book yet – the movie is definitely a fun, light rom-com, if that’s what you’re into.
A few weeks ago, Netflix announced that it was planning to make a sequel, just as the book has a sequel, so that should be great! I actually just picked up book no. 2 at the library this weekend.
In other news, it’s the last full week before the holidays! I’ve got lots on my schedule – work projects, lots of new blog posts, and things to do around the apartment to prepare for company.
I am also trying to fit in as many dance/yoga/fitness classes as possible just to keep myself moving and offer some clarity for my mind. This time of year can really be so busy and sometimes mentally draining.
Anyway, I hope you guys have a great day! I have some fun posts planned for this week, including some Christmas cookie recipes, a beauty junkie’s gift guide, and my Christmas Staycation plans!
If there are ever things you want to see on the blog, or hey, maybe you want to be a guest blogger, shoot me an email: Holly@thebitterlemon.com – I’d love to hear from you!
One more thing: My Etsy Shop is having a sale this week! Get 20% off your entire order (no minimum purchase required) + free shipping! There’s still plenty of time to get things in time for Christmas – I’ll likely be shipping items within 24 hours.
Talk to you tomorrow!
