We made it to the weekend and I’m just curious… how many of you are planning to watch the new “Space Jam”?? At first, I wasn’t thinking about it either way, but now I’m kind of pumped to watch it. It looks fun!
Meanwhile, I am trying to get my summer glow on… but it feels like it’s always raining here and I haven’t been able to make it to the pool as much as I’d hoped.
Enter: Sunless tanning!
I have tried so many sunless tanning products — I have my favorites, but I like to keep trying new things — I should be better at the actual application of it 🙂
I was really impressed by the St. Tropez Watermelon Gradual Tan, so I bought the St. Tropez Self-Tan Classic Bronzing Mousse.
Now… tanning foam or mousse can be tricky. I don’t know why but I feel like with lotion, you have a bit of wiggle room, and with foam or mousse it’s THERE.
I dunno, I’m always intimidated by it. So, when I picked it up to use it for the first time, I was like “Whyyyy did I do this to myself?”
But, I read the directions, followed what they said, and honestly, the tan looks great! Of course, I think some of this depends on the shade and undertone you need for your skin. Some sunless tanners have a red undertone and some have green or blue.
St. Tropez has a green undertone and it really creates that deep brown tan. Now, I still didn’t do great getting it to look clean and smooth around my wrists and ankles, but that’s not St. Tropez’s fault.
But, I exfoliated and shaved before applying, and I used just a basic moisturizer on my elbows and knees, which is where I usually really mess up the look.
Overall, I’m super impressed with this product — the color and how even it turned out. Two things that have really helped me is: 1. Making sure the tanner is completely dry before I get dressed, and 2. Wearing loose clothes that cover the tan (long pants and a long-sleeved shirt) because it prevents sitting or sleeping or sweating from messing up the tan!

The Bitter Lemon 
I’ve been meaning to try this out! I have a bottle sitting in my house, but self tanner scares me! Last time I used it I was a streaky mess.
Tanning mousse or foam is the most difficult, IMO. I definitely followed the directions to a T with this one, and exfoliated first, and really took my time applying it, and then let it totally dry before getting dressed. I love the color of this one, but I know it might not be for everyone. I personally think tanning wipes are the easiest to use, but here I am still trying all kinds of other stuff, ha!
