I have always been a little skeptical of Sunday Riley products. There’s a lot of hype around them, they are on the higher-end in price, and then we all found out that they forced their employees to write good reviews about their products on Sephora’s website. Yikes.
But, I got a sample bottle of Sunday Riley’s CEO Glow in a recent Birchbox and I added it into my daily routine. Here’s the product description from Sunday Riley:
C.E.O. Glow is a Vitamin C + Turmeric glow-giving face oil that recharges the radiance of your skin. Infused with advanced Vitamin C and golden turmeric for instant vibrance and antioxidant defense. C.E.O. Glow delivers cold-pressed, nutrient-rich extracts into your skin, leaving your complexion looking brighter and nurtured.
Cruelty-Free, Sulfate-Free, Paraben-Free, Gluten-Free, Soy-Free, Phthalate-Free, Fragrance-Free, Vegan.
It’s important that I note that I’ve never tried a Vitamin C serum before this one, so I have nothing to compare it to. I used it every morning until it ran out between my toner and my moisturizer.
I really do think it did good things for my skin. Did it give me a glow? I don’t really know. But my skin did look healthy.
I’m not sure I would buy this product — it’s $40 for a half-ounce. But, this made me curious about other Vitamin C products. I did a little bit of digging and here’s some I would like to try:
- Derma E Vitamin C Concentrated Serum | $20
- I Dew Care Bright Side Up Brightening Vitamin C Serum | $25
- Bliss Bright Idea Vitamin C + Tri-Peptide Collagen Protecting & Brightening Serum | $27
- Honest Beauty Vitamin C Radiance Serum | $28
- Kylie Skin Vitamin C Serum | $28
Now, there are products that are even less-expensive than the ones I listed, but I think it depends on the amount of Vitamin C in the product. Some have 10% Vitamin C, while others have more or less. Likely, the more-expensive products have more vitamins (but maybe not). That’s why I want to try a variety of products.
I will say, the CEO Glow smelled wonderful and was very light, even for a serum. I put it on by itself (before my moisturizer), but you could also mix it in with your favorite moisturizer.
Have you tried any Vitamin C serums that you liked? Got thoughts on Sunday Riley? I want to hear ALL of it — leave me a comment!
