When quarantine started, I quickly realized that since I wasn’t making regular errands or raiding the clearance aisle at Ulta, I actually didn’t have standard care products I needed like soap or deodorant. I know that sounds awful, but it’s the truth!
So, when Birchbox sent out an email saying they were having a sale on essential items, I placed an order for everything I needed. One of the items was the Daily Concepts Multi-Functional Mother of Pearl Soap Sponge. Here’s the scoop:
Mild texture multifunctional soap, sponge with infused with clarifying and radiance enhancing Mother of Pearl soap to purge skin of impurities and elevate the overall texture of skin. Clarifying, exfoliating, radiance enhancing, dual purpose soap sponge perfect for clarifying skin. This innovative and multifunctional design is soap infused with a sponge. It’s a major game changer for your skin routine. It’s perfect for exfoliating face or body depending on your comfort level.
Birchbox had the Mother of Pearl scent or a charcoal option, and I went with the pearl because it sounded like it would smell so good… and it DOES. It’s very clean smelling.
This was $8 and I’d say that my only disappointment is the size of it. It’s about a 2-inch square and not quite an inch thick. I would happily pay more for something about twice as big, just to make it easier to hold and last longer.
However, I love the idea of the sponge and soap combo, especially since I regularly exfoliate and this eliminates the need for a separate product. Plus, it’s not too harsh of a scrub.
At first I was questionable about tossing the sponge once the soap was out, but this eliminates having an old sponge in your shower (yuck). I’ve been using it for a few weeks now and haven’t run out of soap, so even though I don’t think it will last as long as a standard bar of soap, I do think it’s worth the cost.
I’ll definitely be buying this product again. Are there any beauty or skincare products you’ve purchased and used during quarantine that you’re loving?
