A Review: Manny MUA X Morphe Glam Palette.

Whew, what a week it’s been! I am really excited to talk about this palette, because I’ve been using it ever since it came out!

I have been watching Manny MUA on YouTube only for about a year, but wow, I love his videos, I think he’s so funny and his makeup always looks flawless. When I went to San Francisco in November, he was coincidentally doing a meet and greet at Macy’s and my friend and I waited in line for almost three hours to see him.

But, it was worth the wait — he was so nice and it was awesome to see his LEWK in-person. Gorgeous!

So, in early December, he announced this collaboration with Morphe, which included the Glam Palette and a set of Morphe brushes. I got both as soon as they went on sale.

Now, when he announced the palette, he said that over the years, he sort of became known for a neutral smoky eye and a nude lip. At first it was sort of a joke, but he’s come to own it and that’s what the palette captures.

Here’s the scoop on it:

This is your chance to step into a gorgeous world that only Manny MUA could dream of. The Morphe X Manny MUA Glam Palette is a mirrored palette that pairs up 12 ethereal eyeshadows in matte and shimmer finishes with two out-of-this-world highlighters. Yes. You’ve got every reason to be shook.

Shade Names:

• Row 1: Dust Cloud (matte peach crème), Scorpio (shimmering warm gold), Fire Witch (matte coral), Leo (shimmering bronze)

• Row 2: Sophie (matte toasted almond), Spellbound (matte rosewood), Cancer (shimmering plum), Zaya (matte cappuccino)

• Row 3: Boy Next Door (matte camel), Gamenta (matte magenta), Aries (shimmering peacock), Howl (matte chocolate)

• Highlighters: Apollo (golden apricot shimmer), Nova (gleaming pink pearl)

Manny has his own beauty line, Lunar Beauty, but he said that collaborating with Morphe allows him to create a more affordable product — the palette is only $20.

I have been using the palette almost daily since I got it and my favorite shadows are Dust Cloud, Sophie and Boy Next Door. The one that surprised me the most was Fire Witch — I normally don’t go for the red-oranges, but I love this one!

The biggest disappointment was Scorpio… patchy, doesn’t blend, and I’ve tried wet, dry, brush, finger… nothing works. However, everything else is just fine. I love the Apollo highlighter.

Manny MUA X Morphe Glam Brush Set

I also bought the brushes, partly because I’m so influenced by him but also because I didn’t have any Morphe brushes and I’ve heard they’re the best. Buying his set was cheaper than buying individual brushes!

The set includes nine brushes and a bag to put them in. It retails for $48 (but is worth $85), so I happily purchased these. I have used all of the brushes DAILY and they are great! Here’s what comes in the set:

1 M439 Deluxe Buffer Brush (synthetic) – Buff a move. The foundation of a filter-free complexion is now in your hands.

2 E4 Angled Contour Brush (synthetic) – This is how perfectly blended contour happens.

3 M510 Pro Round Blender Brush (natural) – Call off the search for the perfect highlighter brush.

4 M533 Flawless Pro Blender Brush (natural & synthetic) – Love flawless, vivid shades? This brush blends it all to life.

5 M535 Defined Deluxe Blender Brush (natural) – Buffs in crease colors and makes harsh lines disappear in the blink of an eye.

6 M433 Pro Firm Blending Fluff Brush (natural) – Finally, crease blending made easy thanks to a fluffy-yet-firm brush.

7 E36 Detail Crease Brush (synthetic) – The perfect fit for laying color right in your crease.

8 M421 Mini Concealer Brush (synthetic) – This brush will help you take cover (and then some).

9 M158 Angle Liner/Spoolie (synthetic) – Meet the perfect power couple for your fiercest eyes yet.

10 Bag (8 1/2” x 2” x 4”) – This chic black bag is perf for keeping your brushes in good condition when you’re on the go.

The contour brush… it’s the best. I use it for my setting powder, bronzer and my blush. I also love the highlighter brush!

I’d definitely recommend both of these products, especially if you’re someone who’s just dabbling into makeup. They are easy to use and the colors aren’t anything too wild. These would make a great gift, too!
