Fall is here, and I’m ready to make the most of the season. I’ve always loved bucket lists, and it’s no surprise that the Fall Bucket List from my Etsy shop is a bestseller!
There’s something about writing down all the things you want to do and crossing them off that makes you more likely to actually do them.
Last year, I made a personal holiday bucket list, and it helped me get through a tough season with more joy.
This year, I’m embracing fall with the same spirit, and here’s what’s on my list:
Farmers’ Market
Austin has farmers’ markets every weekend, and I used to go all the time—until I didn’t. It’s been a few years since I’ve visited, so I’m determined to make my way back this fall.
I’m hoping to snag some apple cider donuts (if I’m lucky!) and fresh kombucha, but honestly, I’ll just buy whatever looks delicious.
Austin Film Festival
Since I moved here, the Austin Film Festival has been a fall staple for me.
I’ve volunteered in the past, doing everything from scanning tickets to timing pitch competitions, and I loved every moment. But this year, I’m thrilled to attend as a badge holder, soak in all the panels, and catch as many movies as possible. It’s a highlight of my fall!
Texas Book Festival (November)
I’ve only been a few times, but the Texas Book Festival is a gem. It’s a fantastic way to meet local authors and grab signed copies of their books. Plus, there’s always something magical about a good fall reading list.
Concerts
November is shaping up to be a music-filled month for me!
I’m seeing both Dave Barnes and Kacey Musgraves in concert—two artists I’ve admired for years. I’ve never been to either of the venues, so I’m excited for the full experience. Their latest albums have been on repeat, and I can’t wait to hear them live.
Emerald Tavern Games & Café
This place holds a special spot in my heart. When I first moved to Austin, I took dance classes near Emerald Tavern and would often grab a hazelnut latte there.
They have the best one in Austin, hands down. It’s been a while since I’ve treated myself to one, and I’m making it happen this fall.
Make a Festive Veggie Pot Pie
I’ve had a recipe for a veggie pot pie saved on Pinterest for years—complete with little ghost-shaped pie crusts on top—and I’ve never made it.
Well, that’s about to change! I’ve already got the ingredients, so there’s no turning back now. This cozy fall dish is definitely happening.
Decorate the “Fall Village”
Before vacation, I picked up a plain wooden birdhouse that looks like a brownstone with plans to turn it into a fully-decorated “Fall Village.” I’m almost done decorating it, and it’s looking super cute! I’ll post a separate update once it’s finished.
Watch Festive Shows
I’m not into scary movies, but I love festive fall shows. I stocked up on Spooky Oreos, gummy worms, and my favorite pb-marshmallow trail mix to snack on while I watch.
I’m thinking some cozy Hallmark fall movies, Only Murders in the Building, and of course, more Gilmore Girls to get me in the spirit.
What kinds of activities are you doing this fall?
