My Favorite Plant-Based Food Brands.

Since moving to Austin in 2015, I’ve been eating more plant-based foods.

At times along the way, I was completely plant-based, but in the last few years I’ve been more loose about it depending on what my body needs.

This year, I’ve been paying more attention to ingredients, even when it’s plant-based.

But there are a few food brands I know I can always trust, and I wanted to highlight them in case you haven’t tried them yet!

Jack and Annie’s

Jack and Annie’s is a plant-based meat alternative made from jackfruit. Not only are the products made from whole food, but they are delicious, and they support farmers and their families. Jack and Annie’s is also sustainably grown.

I’ve tried nearly ALL of Jack and Annie’s products, and I am always so impressed by their texture and flavor.

They have “chicken” nuggets, tenders, and patties — and even buffalo versions. They also have “sausage” links and patties, and breakfast sandwiches.

My favorite products are the buffalo wings and the meatballs. I like to eat the buffalo wings with salad and the meatballs with spaghetti.

Their products have no cholesterol and are pretty low in sodium (compared to other plant-based meat options).

Also, I didn’t mention they are all frozen, which means you can keep them on-hand, which I love!

Abe’s

Abe’s creates inclusive treats that are vegan, nut-free, soy-free, you name it… and they are delicious! Abe’s makes muffins, cupcakes, cakes, brownies, and pound cakes.

I’ve had the mini muffins (the apple cider ones are drool-worthy), BIG muffins (a travel favorite), brownies (super fudgy and rich), and coffee cake (fantastic).

While these are not a daily item for me, they are treats I can trust… and I really want to try their cupcakes and corn muffins!

Mylk Labs

Mylk Labs makes vegan, organic, low-sugar oatmeal! I feel like I’ve been on the hunt for low-sugar oatmeal (aside from plain) for years, even before I was eating a plant-based diet.

So, when I found Mylk Labs, I was so excited! Not only is the company woman-owned (love that), but their individual cups of yummy oats are sustainably sourced and have compostable packaging.

They have several flavors, and I’m happy to say I’ve tried them all except Almond Pink Salt. It’s truly difficult to pick a favorite, although maybe Blueberry Maple is my top pick?? They are all so good!

And, those are my current favorite plant-based food brands! I selected these because I’ve been trying their products for years.

However, I will say there are two other brands I’m watching to add to my list: GT’s Living Foods and Wildbrine.

GT’s Living Foods has delicious kombucha and living coconut yogurt (which is unbelievable!), but they have a few other products I have yet to try.

Wildbrine is a new-to-me brand, as I just tried their Korean-style Kimchi last week! I used it for homemade kimchi fried rice, and wow, it was good.

But, Wildbrine has lots of products I want to try, including Spicy Pickled Vegetables, salsa, and Probiotic Sriracha.

So many yummy things to try! Have you had anything from these brands?
