How to Make an Eggnog Martini with Bakesale Gingerbread Liquor!

I’ve started making some festive cocktails — it’s one of my favorite things to do — and thought I’d share a recipe with you.

If you’re new here, I spent a previous life as a bartender, and while sometimes I miss it, I keep my skills fresh using my home bar. I even create cocktail menus and recipes for my Etsy Shop, and I’ve got one specifically for the holidays:

Recently, BakeSale sent me their most recent limited edition liqu0r: Gingerbread!

Like all of their liqueur flavors, the Gingerbread comes in a single-serve pouch (1 ounce), and this one is a cute gingerbread man — there’s even a hole in the top to turn it into an ornament or tie a bow on and gift it!

Bakesale Gingerbread Liquor

Some fun facts about the Gingerbread Liquor: it’s 33% ABV, tastes just like gingerbread but with a warm kick, it’s gluten and dairy-free, and… pour or drink it right from the pouch after you tear the gingerbread man’s head off!! Cookie Icon

I got the single box, which has 12 shots, and my first thought was: this would be perfect for a party! Instead of bringing a dozen cookies, bring a dozen gingerbread men full of liquor!

I plan to keep some for myself and give some to friends — how cute will these be tied to packages?

I tried the liquor by itself before making any drinks and was pleasantly surprised at how warm and spicy it tasted. I don’t like sweet drinks, so this was perfect and can actually be used for several festive drinks.

Anyway, I used one pouch to make an eggnog martini, and I knew you all would love it, so I’m sharing the very easy recipe:

EGGNOG MARTINI RECIPE

For this Eggnog Martini, you’ll need:

  • One oz vanilla vodka
  • One oz gingerbread liquor
  • 3 oz eggnog of your choice (I used dairy-free eggnog from Califia)
  • Ground cinnamon

Pour the vodka, gingerbread liquor, and eggnog into a cocktail shaker with ice and a pinch of ground cinnamon. Shake until icy cold, and strain into a martini glass. Garnish with a pinch of cinnamon — if you want to go extra, pop star anise on top!

I’m so excited to share this martini recipe because I’m not a huge eggnog person, but the gingerbread liquor and vodka really cut the sweetness and bring it to life! I sipped on it while watching a Christmas movie, and it was fabulous.

If you want other ways to use your Gingerbread Liquor, you can pour it into a cup of coffee, add it to a mug of hot chocolate, or use it to make an espresso martini (add espresso and vanilla vodka)!

What holiday drinks are you making?

Cheers!
