Fall Cleaning & Organization products.

During these last few months, I’ve been trying to deep clean my apartment and get things organized. I live in a 500-square-foot apartment, which is old, and while I do keep things tidy, it really needed a scrub down and some fresh organizing.

I’m on a budget, so I tried to use items I already had to clean and organize. But, for some areas, I needed specific items, which I’m sharing here.

The following post contains affiliate links, which sends me a small percentage of any sales at no cost to you.

Citrus Mint Floor Cleaner

For years, I’ve purchased all of my cleaning products at Meleleuca. But I needed something a little tougher, especially for my bathroom floor, which is old linoleum. The Better Life Floor Cleaner had the best reviews, plus it’s affordable and has clean ingredients.

I ended up using this on the linoleum and the laminate flooring, and love it! It gets the floor clean, and I LOVE the scent (citrus mint). I’ve been using it regularly after my initial scrub down (more on this later).

Clear Lazy Suzans

I cook a lot, and I feel like my fridge and cabinets are always stuffed. A few years ago, I did some writing for a professional organizer, and she used Lazy Suzans for all sorts of things. I bought this 2-pack of clear lazy suzans and put one in my fridge and one in my spice cabinet.

The one in my fridge holds condiments; since it rotates, I can see everything I’ve got! The one in my cabinet holds spices, which has really helped — no more knocking down all my spices to reach a bottle in the back. Since the tray is clear, you can see the entire item, which is also helpful.

Scrub Daddy Colored Sponge Set

A big part of this cleaning project was literally scrubbing floors, cabinets, walls, etc. So, I bought several sponges that I’d never tried. I know Scrub Daddy is a popular brand, but I hadn’t tried any of their products, so I started with the classic set of colored sponges.

I saved one sponge back for dishes and used the other two on floors and other areas. This particular sponge really got things clean, and it still seems new. It seems indestructible; I’m impressed!

Kitchen Can Organizer

Of all the organization items I bought, this one was the least practical one. Let’s face it, I like for my cans of soda water and non-alcoholic beer to be lined up nice and neat While, I could do that without a caddy, this does make it easier, and the cans stay put.

This set of two clear can caddies holds soda cans or canned goods, so you could use it in your fridge, pantry, garage, etc. I have both of mine in the fridge!

The Pink Stuff Miracle Cleaning Paste

I believe this went viral during the pandemic lockdown, but this was my first time buying and trying it. It’s a pink paste that foams up when you add a little bit of water and get to scrubbing.

I used this on my bathroom floor, my tub and shower, my stovetop, and even some of my pots and pans! In some cases, I used the paste and a Scrub Daddy sponge, but in other cases, I just used rubber gloves to apply it. It gets things clean, although I wasn’t amazed — you have to really scrub depending on what you’re dealing with.

Under Sink Organizer

This steel caddy is probably my favorite item of all of them! I really needed shelves for under my bathroom sink. I measured the space and started searching, and this one came up as a solid, affordable option.

It’s two shelves that are tall enough to hold cleaning products, books, skincare bottles, etc., and the shelves roll out so you can easily reach every item on the shelf. I have hair, bath, and body products on mine and it’s allowed me to fit more items under my sink but also see them so I can use them!

Scour Daddy Heavy Duty Sponge Set

This is another sponge set I bought. Although this one says “scour,” these seem more gentle than the classic Scrub Daddy. These are better for dishes, pots, and pans, though, because they’re flexible but tough.

Guitar Wall Hanger

I have two acoustic guitars that I’ve been wanting to hang for years but never knew what to buy to actually do it. Well, I found a set of two guitar hangers that come in all sorts of colorways. I bought a set that has a white block of wood (to match my wall) and a black hanger (to blend in with the guitar neck).

Each hanger comes with a kit to put it on the wall. I’ve had the guitars hung for about six weeks now and have had no issues. They look great!

Scrub Daddy Eraser Sponge

And finally, I bought a set of Scrub Daddy Eraser Sponges. These have one “eraser” side and one side that has the same texture as the classic Scrub Daddy Sponge. So, you can scrub, erase, scrub, erase, etc. until the spot is gone. These work well, but I didn’t think they worked much differently than other eraser products I’ve tried.

I am mostly done with my cleaning and organizing project, but now it’s an ongoing thing to keep it all nice and tidy!
