A Review: Estelle Colored Glass Stemware.

I bought three sets of Estelle Colored Glass Stemware in 2021… and it’s become such an integral part of my kitchen and bar that I forgot to report back on my thoughts!

But, I’m here now, and at least I can tell you my full review after using these pieces for two entire years.

Let’s get into it:

What is Estelle Colored Glass?

I initially heard about Estelle Colored Glass from a podcast. The host had a set of her multicolored wine glasses and was saying how many compliments she got at a dinner party.

Looking at the photos from the party, they were so pretty! However, when I looked them up online, I had a bit of sticker shock.

But, then I read more about the company, and found out the business was inspired by Stephanie’s (the founder) grandmother, Estelle, who loved antiquing in South Carolina.

Not only am I a fan of supporting Black-female-owned companies, but I loved this story. South Carolina has a special place in my heart, and my grandmother was also the person to introduce me to colored glass.

Estelle Colored Glass has several different types of glassware, including pint glasses, stemless wine glasses, decanters, and cake stands, and there are dozens of color options!

What I bought from Estelle Colored Glass

There are so many choices on the Estelle website, it was hard to choose what to get. Here’s what I ended up with:

Estelle Colored Wine Stemware Set of 6 | Cobalt Blue. While I loved the idea of a mixed set of glasses, I know myself too well and it would probably drive me crazy in the end. I compromised by getting other types of stemware in different colors.

The cobalt blue was such a nice shade, and I figured it would look nice with any wine varietal in the glass. I also figured it would be a color I’d enjoy all year ’round.

Estelle Colored Martini Glass Set of 2 | Mint Green. I rarely drink martinis, but I thought it would be nice to have a proper glass for the occasion. The mint green was so unique and I wanted something that would complement the cobalt blue wine glasses.

Estelle Colored Champagne Coupe Stemware Set of 2 | Emerald Green. I have champagne flutes, but I loved these vintage-style coupes! I also thought this emerald was too good to pass up. I love jewel tones, and thought such a rich color was perfect for a champagne toast.

What I think after using Estelle Colored Glass Stemware for two years

When the stemware arrived, I was blown away by how they were packed and how beautiful they looked! I immediately washed them all and put them on display 🙂

As a regular wine drinker, it’s easy for me to approximate that I’ve used the wine glasses hundreds of times at this point.

The quality of these glasses is so impressive. While I am careful with them, and always hand-wash them, I have dropped them a few times, and not a thing happened to them!

I have used the martini and coupe glasses much less, but they are always on display in my kitchen (I have a hanging rack I installed) and it’s fun to serve drinks in them.

I know there are other colorful stemware sets out there (and they are at lower price points) but I can’t imagine they’re of the same quality. Not to mention, are they just copying Estelle?

I know these kinds of things may not bother most people, but I feel it’s worth mentioning. I like knowing the kind of people, brand, and story I’m supporting with my money.

My only gripe with these glasses has absolutely nothing to do with the brand. I completely didn’t think about the fact that using a colored wine glass means you can’t admire the color of the wine!

I’m a bit of a dork when it comes to wine and I like to look at its color, especially if it’s my first time trying it. So, I need a decent set of standard, clear glasses for this reason.

I also could stand to improve my handwashing skills, but I’ll get there!

Overall, I absolutely love these glasses and would not be surprised if I buy more pieces from Estelle Colored Glass in the future.
