A Review: Otherland Candles.

I’m not ashamed one bit: I’m a candle girl.

For a while, it seems like women who loved candles were given a lot of grief (still not sure why), but I’ve fully embraced my love of candles.

Not only have I always loved burning a good-smelling candle, but I am also particular about how it looks and whether or not it goes with my home decor.

In recent years, I’ve stopped buying from corporations (goodbye Bath & Body Works candles!) and started supporting smaller businesses owned by women that sell clean candles that don’t put toxic chemicals into my apartment while I’m trying to create a vibe.

So, when I saw Otherland candles that hit my needs, I immediately bought six!

You can actually build your own bundle to save some coins, so I built a box of six. I got scents from several collections, including Velvet Persimmon, Spice it Up, Dappled Wood, Sun Suede, Rattan, and Kindling.

Even selecting six scents was difficult because there are so many to choose from, and they all sound so nice!

I was choosing scents with fall in mind (although now their winter and holiday collections look divine).

When the box arrived, I was in awe of its beauty! Each candle was snug in its own holder, and there was even a little box of matches, which I like to have on hand in case of a power outage (I use a rechargeable lighter usually).

Having burned four of the candles now, I can confidently say that these are worth the price. They are not big candles, but the scent fills the room, and I love the colors and designs on the vessel.

These would make such a great gift, too — build one of the bundles, keep a candle for yourself and gift the others! You can’t go wrong with a candle and a bottle of wine as a gift for a hostess or a friend.

Otherland is a female-founded company, and all the ingredients are clean. I posted on Instagram when my box arrived, and whoever runs the social media for them was messaging me about my choices and making sure I trimmed the wicks regularly — so kind!

This is why I love shopping small — there’s so much personal care that goes into each product and every step of the process.

Have you tried Otherland candles yet?
