We made it to Friday, and well, it’s been a bit of a tough week. COVID cases in Austin have reached very high levels, the ICU is full, and the state has outlawed any mandates related to the virus.
This means it’s up to individuals to get vaccinated, wear a mask, social distance, or stay home… and we have all seen how well things work when you leave it up to individuals. So, even though I am vaccinated, I am back in quarantine.
I don’t have anywhere to be until late September, so I’ll just cross my fingers and hope that things are a little bit better by then.
I really struggled with life in quarantine in 2020 and my anxiety about doing it again is pretty bad, so this weekend I’m going to focus on things I can do at home. I was really only going to the yoga studio, but just the idea of staying home again is enough to make me upset.
But, I know there’s plenty to keep me busy, and complaining is not the way. If you’re in the same boat as me, here’s a list I made of 41 things to do if you need a distraction and my quarantine reading list.
Okay, enough about that — let’s get to the skincare!
I asked for anything from Charlotte Tilbury for Christmas last year because I’d never tried anything from the brand and this is one of the items I got: Goddess Cleansing Ritual.
The set includes the Citrus Oil Radiance Cleanse (ritual 1), the Purifying Charcoal Cleanse (ritual 2), and a muslin cloth.
This is a great set if you’re someone who likes to double cleanse. The Citrus Oil has a balm-like consistency (but it’s very smooth) and it smells so delicious and fresh. This melts off makeup, and I love using it with hot water on the muslin cloth.
The Charcoal Cleanse smells very clean and it has a cream-like consistency. It is a charcoal color, but once you put it on your face and start massaging it in, it turns grayish, and that’s when you know it’s safe to rinse off.
Together, these leave my skin feeling clean but not stripped.
So far, I have loved every product I’ve tried from Charlotte Tilbury — I actually just used the last drop of the Goddess Ritual set and am currently using Charlotte’s Magic Cream, which I really love so far.
What Charlotte Tilbury products have you tried?
