When the NBA games restarted last month, I decided I was going to watch every Laker game.
Why? Well, for many reasons. For one, it was something to do. I am still in self-isolation, and while I am slowly getting more work, I still need need things fill my time with and things to look forward to.
I also figured it would be a good chance to brush up on my knowledge of the game. Having grown up in Indiana, I know most of the rules and have always enjoyed watching basketball.
But once I moved to the South, the focus became more about football. So, I looked up the Lakers’ schedule and started watching. I’m proud to say I have watched every game… it’s a lot to keep up with!
It’s no March Madness, but I am learning more about the players, on the Lakers and on the other teams, too.
It’s not a bad way to spend an evening, especially at home.
One of the first things I noticed about the games in The Bubble were the fans. They’re digital!
At first, I thought they were just made up people, but in the second game, the announcers pointed out that they were real fans at home watching the game… and Lil Wayne was in the crowd!
I think this will be a permanent thing for me… maybe not every SINGLE game, but the big ones at least.
Is there anything you’ve been doing during lockdown that you wouldn’t normally do?
