Hurray, we all made it to Friday! I have been working away this week… I set up a desk in my living room, which is a nice change of scenery. I have a full desk and office area near my kitchen, but I haven’t been working there since the start of lockdown.
I usually sit in my bedroom — either in my bed or in a chair I have in there. I set up this desk in my living room mostly to use for the Blogging Boot Camp last weekend and ended up liking it so much, I stayed.
Whatever works is what I’m going with, these days!
I’m excited to share the latest read from Blanche’s Book Club: “It’s Not Summer Without You” by Jenny Han. It’s the second book in her “summer” series. Here’s the scoop:
It used to be that Belly counted the days until summer, until she was back at Cousins Beach with Conrad and Jeremiah. But not this year. Not after Susannah got sick again and Conrad stopped caring. Everything that was right and good has fallen apart, leaving Belly wishing summer would never come.
But when Jeremiah calls saying Conrad has disappeared, Belly knows what she must do to make things right again. And it can only happen back at the beach house, the three of them together, the way things used to be. If this summer really and truly is the last summer, it should end the way it started—at Cousins Beach.
After reading the first book in the series, I was a little disappointed. I felt like it was a little too young for me and I wasn’t sold on Belly as a character.
But, I wanted to keep on and read book two and I’m so glad I did. Belly is older in this book and the plot has thickened! I felt there were many more parts of this book I can relate to… and the ending is a cliff hanger!
I would still recommend this series (even though I haven’t read book three yet) to anyone who loves a good beach rom-com.
I already have book three, so I’m looking forward to reading that next, so I can find out what happens.
Book three is called “We’ll Always Have Summer.” Are there any good beachy or summery reads you’ve read this year?
