Which Face Sheet Mask is Right for you?

It’s a new week y’all! I spent the weekend getting some work done, doing lots of reading (really trying to crack down on my Summer Reading Log), and I watched a few documentaries and other goodies.

It was storming most of last night, so I slept in a little and am now tossing my outdoor rugs into the dryer — it’s an exciting Monday over here.

But, I AM excited to finally share this facial sheet mask roundup with you!

17 Different Face Sheet Masks

I use all sorts of different skin care just for fun, and at the beginning of the year, I started taking notes of all of the different sheet masks I used, hoping to offer a big review roundup like this one, and I finally feel like I’ve got enough info to share.

I used to HATE sheet masks — they’re cold, slimy, and I felt like I couldn’t move once I put them on or else they’d slide right off my face. But, they are affordable, easy to apply, and many of them offer great results.

So, the more I use them and the more I try different ones, the more I’ve come to find the best ones (so far) and enjoy using them much more. Below, I’ve listed all of the different ones I’ve tried this year — some I love, some aren’t as great, but of course, it all depends on what your skin needs.

The single-use face mask sheet works in 15 to 30 minutes to leave your skin looking luminous, evenly toned, and radiant. Enriched with vitamin B3, this hydrating face mask contours to your face for optimal absorption to deliver clinically-proven results. Price: $3.49

Neutrogena Deep Clean Purifying 100% Hydrogel Face Mask With Hyaluronic Acid

Instantly hydrates for refreshed skin. This peel-off hydrogel face mask with seaweed extract contains 50% more essence than ordinary paper masks leaving your skin purified & healthy looking.

NEUTROGENA® DEEP CLEAN® Purifying 100% Hydrogel Mask instantly refreshes your skin. Made from a unique hydrogel material, this gel face mask holds up to 50% more essence than ordinary paper masks to leave your skin purified and with a healthy glow (based on mask fill weight of 20ml).

The 100% hydrogel material contours to your skin and seals in the formula for optimal absorption to deliver clinically proven results. Gentle on skin, this purifying face mask is infused with seaweed extract to leave your skin healthy looking and purified. Price: $3.49

My thoughts: I put all of these masks together, because it’s difficult for me to tell them apart. However, I love all of them! I bought two during a BOGO sale at Ulta, and I quickly learned that I love the hydrogel over paper masks. I love the way my skin feels after, but honestly, I’m not sure there’s much of a difference in the results as far as radiance or cleansing. But, I definitely think these are high-quality and worth the price.

Burt’s Bees Detoxifying Charcoal Sheet Mask

Burt’s Bees™ Detoxifying Charcoal Sheet Mask removes impurities for an invigorating cleanse while being gentle and soothing to skin. The sheet mask features embedded charcoal to help remove impurities, dirt and grime from the surface of your skin providing a fresh clean appearance. Price: $2.99

My thoughts: I’ve tried a few different skin care items from Burt’s Bees and have been pleasantly surprised. This is the only sheet mask I’ve tried from them and it was okay. It’s thicker than your usual paper mask, but it’s not the hydrogel. I do like the idea of a charcoal mask that isn’t clay, but it’s difficult to say if I got proper results from using it (my skin did feel soft afterward). One thing that’s a definitely plus is that its 99% natural ingredients and it’s a good price, which is much more than many other face masks I’ve seen could say!

Trader Joe’s Rich Hydrating Face Sheet Mask

Single-use sheet masks are all the rage in the world of at-home skin care, and our Rich Hydrating Face Sheet Mask is truly top of the line. For starters, we use only 100% unbleached cotton to make the sheet itself—which is soft, thin, and scored in all the right places for easy application.

But what really sets Trader Joe’s Sheet Mask apart is the special blend of ingredients it’s soaked in, like hydrating hyaluronic acid & honey; revitalizing rose hip & camellia oils; calming chamomile, green tea, & turmeric extracts; plumping propolis, pomegranate, & blue algae extracts; and more… plus a bit of natural cucumber fragrance for that spa-day touch. Price: $3.99

My thoughts: I follow a few beauty bloggers who have tried this and they said it burned when they put it on, so I was eager to try it and see how it was (sounds crazy, I know). There was a bit of a tingly sensation, but nothing I was worried about, and it actually made my face feel soothed and moisturized after — I always feel my skin right when I wakeup after using a mask. I want to try more Trader Joe’s products, but I think this one is pretty good, plus the ingredients are totally safe. It’s the only sheet mask they offer, and it does the job for a pretty good price.

Glow Recipe Watermelon Glow Jelly Sheet Mask

This one-of-a-kind sheet mask gets its jelly texture from a blend of watermelon extract and natto gum. That’s right, it’s a sheet mask made out of watermelons that gives you all the benefits of the amino-acid rich fruit directly into the skin. The watermelon base gives the jelly a naturally translucent pink hue that’s almost invisible on the skin, meaning you can mask anywhere, anytime without anyone knowing what you’re up to. It’ll be our little secret. Price: $8.00

My thoughts: This was the first jelly-type mask I’d ever tried and it really is luxurious. This is the best mask EVER. I love it — I know it’s a higher price point, but it’s definitely worth it, even if you just try it once! Glow Recipe sells a watermelon mask by the jar, so this sheet mask may just be a travel-safe solution for users of the jar. Either way, this is amazing!

Radar Cosmetics Collagen Facial Sheet Mask

My thoughts: Okay, I honestly couldn’t find ANY information online for this one! Weird, but I bought it at Five Below for $1.25. I always see so many face masks there, but am scared for what the ingredients are.

I’m really paranoid about putting junk products onto my skin, but after looking through tons of different masks, this one seemed okay. I will say that for $1.25, I thought it was a pretty good mask — again, not sure if it was really adding collagen to my skin, but for a $1.25, it was pretty good! If you see it at Five Below, snatch it up!

Oh K! Hyaluronic Acid Hydrogel Sheet Mask

The Oh K! Hyaluronic Acid Hydrogel Sheet Mask is carefully formulated with Vitamin B3 and Gotu Kola, to improve skin tone and elasticity, the moisture-magnet Hyaluronic Acid, to help plump the skin, and soothing Chamomile, all expertly blended into a 2-part hydrogel structure. The gel hugs the contours of the skin, to prevent the mask slipping and sliding, while allowing you to control and placement of the mask to maximize skin contact, creating a comfortable, easy to wear mask with a luxurious spa Experience. Price: $5.99

My thoughts: I’ll be honest… the more Korean beauty products I try, the more I love them! I got this during a BOGO sale at Ulta so I splurged for this one — I am hooked on the hydrogels! Oh K! has a whole line of products that I want to try now. Definitely worth the few extra dollars (compared to average sheet mask prices).

SpaLife Collagen Crystal Facial Mask Infused with Multi-Vitamins & Hyaluronic Acid

Anti-aging collagen crystal facial mask. Infused with multivitamins and hyaluronic acid. Price: $12.99

My thoughts: I got this as a gift, but I have seen them at Five Below (they often have lots of SpaLife products) and apparently it’s a great deal! I definitely love the texture of this mask and it has little flecks of glitter in it, which is fun. I wouldn’t pay $13 for it, but if you see it at Five Below, grab a few!

Too Cool for School Egg Cream Mask Hydration

This mask features an ultra-soft microfiber sheet drenched in egg extracts, coconut water, niacinamide, and other botanical extracts to deliver ultimate hydration, nourishment, and brightening benefits. Coconut water provides hydration and quickly penetrates into skin.

Niacinamide and camu camu extract are rich in vitamin C to brighten the overall appearance of skin, while egg extracts nourish. Actives are delivered through a skin-fitting microfiber, which comfortably adheres to all facial contours. In as little as 20 minutes, skin appears more visibly radiant and glowy, and feels well hydrated and nourished. Price: $6.00

My thoughts: This mask is so silky and luxurious! It has so much product that you can really let it soak into the skin and it leaves it feeling very nourished. I’ve used the bottle version of this, but I actually liked the sheet mask even more — definitely one you should try.

Purlisse Watermelon Energizing Sheet Mask

Quench skin with a burst of freshness for an instant glow! A cooling and hydrating sheet mask that works to awaken tired looking skin. Infused with WATERMELON, ALOE VERA, CUCUMBER and restorative Asian botanicals to deliver antioxidants and minerals to your skin.

Watermelon is packed with Vitamin A, B and C to hydrate and lock in moisture while Aloe Vera reduces inflammation or redness and Cucumber soothes and refreshes , it’s especially perfect for after sun exposure for a cooling sensation with ingredient benefits. Price: $5.00

My thoughts: I was really excited to try this — I got a 6-pack of them from Birchbox in a limited edition box. They are the non-jelly version of the Glow Recipe mask and I don’t like them as much, but I don’t hate them. I would classify these as a standard paper sheet mask.

Andalou Naturals Instant Hydration Facial Sheet Mask

Formulated with PhytoCellTec Alpin Rose, Pomegranate Oil, Rosehip Oil and Rosewater. Price: $5.00

My thoughts: This mask is really different and feels like a serum, which is really nice and calming on the skin. I love anything with rosewater and definitely want to try other products from Andalou Naturals.

My thoughts: I’ve been a Melaleuca member for four years and I was really excited when they released these. I have purchased them at least twice, if not more. I think they are a great price (for members), and although I don’t particularly love one mask over the next, I like using them one after another in a week — I know that sounds like a lot, but I use face masks almost every night 🙂 To learn more about becoming a Melaleuca member, click here

…17 different face masks! I already have some in my bathroom that I haven’t tried yet, so perhaps there will be another list of 17 sheet masks before the year is up. Are there any here that you’re going to try? What sheet masks do you love that I need to try?
