‘Blogging for Beginners’ at UT Austin Starts May 1!

I know the weekend is almost over, but I didn’t want to forget to remind anyone that’s interested that a new round of “Blogging for Beginners” starts at the University of Texas at Austin Wednesday, May 1.

If you’re not familiar with the course, it’s part of UT’s Informal Course program, which means anyone can register to take it. The class takes place on Wednesday nights, from 6-8 pm for five weeks.

“Blogging for Beginners” is a course I created several years ago and taught it at Louisiana State University. I created the course to help anyone — even those who aren’t quite sure what a blog is — learn about blogs, and create one of their own from scratch. By the end of the five weeks, every student should know how to create and maintain a successful blog. We even discuss marketing, advertising, and search engine optimization.

It’s a fun class and I always look forward to meeting new students and hearing about their ideas for a blog! As far as I know, there are still seats available, so sign up ASAP — you can register here.

I hope to see you there!

I spent my Saturday outside — it was so nice outside, so I made a little playlist and got some work done on my patio that I’d been wanting to do. I still have some planting and repotting to do, but I am waiting a few more weeks just to be SURE it’s safe!

I’ve been taking it easy today, and started watching “Designing Women” from episode one. Right now, I’m almost done with the first season. I remember seeing a few random episodes when I was a kid, but don’t recall anything about them. So far, this show is hilarious!

I’ll have a fresh blog post up tomorrow — I’ve got a really busy work week, so I’m going to get to sleep early tonight! Enjoy what’s left of your weekend 🙂

I post on Instagram and I’m pretty active on Twitter if you want to follow me @OrangeJulius7. The next semester of “Blogging for Beginners” starts May 1 at the University of Texas at Austin, and registration is still open.
