It’s been a while since I’ve talked about my Etsy Shop on the blog, so I figured an update was in order!
I’m very grateful that my shop has continued to bring in revenue month after month (although it fluctuates, of course); part of the reason I could afford to move across the country was because of my shop!
But after the holidays, I admittedly was not feeling motivated. It wasn’t just in the shop, either; it was in most areas of my life. I think part of it was winter depression (it was my first REAL winter after all), but some of it was some other things I was working through.
As a result, I really didn’t work on my shop much, and my views and sales really slipped. A few years ago, I wrote about how my Etsy Shop grew over the years and whether it’s truly “passive” income in another blog post, if you’re looking for some tips!
But since March or so, I’ve been working SO hard to get my shop back in order, and back to a place customers trust to spend their hard-earned money 🙂
I made a plan for my shop, and have been updating things daily, from adding new photos, changing prices, writing new product descriptions, and of course, creating new items!
One thing that’s important to me about the shop is that it remains a fun place for both me to work in and for customers to come visit. Things are hard enough in the world right now, and I hope the items in my shop can bring a little joy.
With that in mind, I was really happy (and relieved) when I started feeling inspired and excited about creating some new items for the shop!
A set of items I wanted to share here are the “Fruity Girl” Checklists I created, all from something silly I noticed about myself.
Fruity Girl Checklists
Last summer, I was obsessed with all things banana-flavored, from lip gloss to smoothies, but this summer, I’m latching on to cherries: cherry lip balm, cherry Coke, cherries at the farmer’s market…
This got me thinking about personas around fruit. Like, am I a “Cherry girl?” And I decided to create those personas for checklists. Here they are:
- 🍒 Cherry Girl Checklist: Playful, confident, spontaneous energy.
- 🍓 Strawberry Girl Checklist: Soft, comforting, cozy femininity.
- 🍋 Lemon Girl Checklist: Fresh starts, clean girl energy, and reset routines.
- 🍑 Peach Girl Checklist: Warm, glowy, calm, golden-hour energy.
Each list captures the persona’s spirit and energy rather than providing a list of action items. While I do think these are super niche items (I’m not sure how well they will sell), I had so much fun making them, and they turned out so cute!!
The lists are sold separately or as a set for a discounted price.
While the Fruity Girl lists are for use year-round, I made some new items with summer in mind.
90’s Summer Bucket List
I’m big on nostalgia, and I keep seeing folks revert to the ways we used to know in retaliation against technology, AI, and politics. I’m so here for it! I wanted to capture the summer spirit of my youth, which was focused on spending time outside and focusing on analog activities!
I tried to capture the bright colors of the 90s while sticking to the shop’s watercolor style, and I truly love how it turned out! I have additional ideas surrounding the 90s that I’ll create later this year.
Summer Nights Bucket List
After surviving my first Buffalo winter, I’ve quickly realized a major perk of the warmer months (or weeks, I don’t know how anything goes anymore) is the longer nights. In the winter, the sun sets at 4:30 (not a joke, it’s the saddest thing ever), so now that we’re getting a near 9 p.m. sunset is AMAZING.
To celebrate, I created a Summer Nights Bucket List. If you work during the summer, but are still looking to maximize your days, this might be the list for you!
Coming soon…
I have one more summer-specific list coming before next week!
After that, I have several ideas that will fit year-round before I venture into any new fall goodies.
I’m also adding a VERY LIMITED amount of physical lists that are left over from two in-person shows I was a part of during the winter months. I’ve already added a few, but have several more to add, so if you’d like a physical list (printed on cardstock) shipped to your home, now’s the time to buy one!
If you’ve kept up with my shop or been a customer, thank you so much! It truly brings me so much joy and allows me to be creative outside of my writing.
