I finally placed my first-ever order from Quince — a brand I’ve been seeing all over Instagram lately. If your feed looks anything like mine, you might have noticed them too.
The ads are polished, the products look cozy and timeless, and they clearly lean into influencer marketing (which I have mixed feelings about). But I have to admit: Quince caught my attention.
The company itself has an interesting mission. Quince was founded by individuals who worked in luxury fashion and home goods, but wanted to bring that same quality to a broader audience — without the luxury price tag.
Their big pillars are quality, sustainability, and affordability. The idea is that everyone deserves to enjoy well-made things without breaking the bank.
They use premium materials, cut out middlemen with a factory-direct model, and claim to only partner with ethical factories.
Of course, a brand’s values are one thing — but how do the products actually hold up?
For my first order, I went the “one-stop-shop” route: a kitchen runner, a rug pad, and two sweaters.
The Rug
The rug I chose (the “Cole” runner, from their performance rugs section) doesn’t seem to be in stock anymore, but I wanted something for a high-traffic space that could handle messes and still look good.
It’s now living in my kitchen, and so far, I love it.
It’s plusher and softer than I expected for a performance rug, and the rug pad underneath makes it extra cushy when I’m standing at the counter cooking or rinsing dishes.
The pad wasn’t an exact fit, but it was easy to trim and adjust. So far, it looks great, feels great, and seems durable — exactly what I wanted for that space.
The Sweaters
I also picked up two sweaters:
- The 100% Organic Cotton Fisherman Crew Sweater in black (a true classic, perfect for layering).
- The 100% Organic Cotton Cropped Cardigan in “Big Sur Green” (a gorgeous shade with chunky buttons I couldn’t resist).
I haven’t had a chance to really wear them yet — it’s not quite sweater weather in Buffalo — but both pieces feel soft, sturdy, and thoughtfully made.
I chose them to fill specific wardrobe gaps: a simple, versatile black sweater, and a cardigan that’s not too light, not too heavy, but just right.
I can already tell they’ll be staples once the temperature drops.
Final Thoughts
Overall, I’m impressed with my first Quince order.
I’ll always check thrift stores first before buying anything new, but I like knowing that if I do shop new, there are brands prioritizing affordability, sustainability, and quality.
Quince feels like a solid option — less trendy fast fashion, more timeless essentials.
And if nothing else, I’ll be standing on a very comfortable kitchen rug while I wait for sweater season to arrive.
If you’d like to try Quince, I have a $20 coupon code! To get it, just enter your email address below and let me know you’d like it. I promise your information won’t be used for anything other than the Quince code.
