Over the last few months, I’ve been trying to fight some minor acne on my shoulders and upper back. Never have I ever had bacne until my late 30s… make it make sense!
I’m currently using some specific products that I’ll report back on (I did enjoy Banish’s bacne scrub; full review here), but I’ve got one for you today, even if you are lucky enough to not have shoulder zits, ha!
Having these annoying bumps sent me on a mission to find a really nice long-handled body brush. I looked at Ulta and TJ Maxx; I was hesitant to buy strictly online because I wanted to make sure the bristles weren’t too harsh.
I also wanted to make sure it would stay clean. During the pandemic lockdown, I learned how badly a dirty brush can wreak havoc on your skin (Clarisonic, I’m talking to YOU).
I couldn’t find exactly what I needed, but I stumbled across an even better product: the Luv Scrub Mesh Body Exfoliator.
What is African Mesh?
African mesh is a long, stretchy, and porous sponge made of nylon fibers that are used to exfoliate and cleanse the skin. Because of the nature of the mesh, it dries quickly and is less likely to harbor bacteria. It also is durable and can last up to two years.
How is Luv Scrub different than African mesh?
Luv Scrub, a Black-female-owned and operated company, elevated African mesh to create its Body Mesh Exfoliator.
They’ve paid attention to the details, ensuring it’s the right texture, creates a rich lather, reaches your entire back, and comes in several colors to match your vibe.
My experience using the Luv Scrub Body Mesh Exfoliator
Before I purchased the Body Mesh Exfoliator, I read a lot of reviews. So many customers said this helped clear up acne and KP — score!
I chose “Naked Sunset” (a rich, burnt coral) to match my bathroom decor.
When I took it out of the box, I could feel how durable it was, but I was curious to find out how it felt on my skin.
I’ve used it several times now, and I know for a fact that this will be replacing the endless amount of body scrubs I was purchasing.
I use body scrubs every time I shower, and the less-expensive ones are $10 a jar. This Body Mesh is going to pay for itself FAST.
I am still amazed at how rich of a lather this gave me, as I simply used bar soap with it. I rubbed the bar of soap on the mesh and got continuous, rich lather for my entire body and was able to scrub my shoulders and back.
I am confident my skin has never felt more smooth. This product is amazing!
When I’m done in the shower, I drape this over my hanging shower caddy, and it dries without any issue. This will also be easy to travel with (a bar of soap + Body Mesh is also TSA-friendly).
This would make such a great gift and is perfect for regularly exfoliating the skin, prepping for sunless tanner, scrubbing rough heals, etc.
I’m so happy I found this brand!
