When I started my part-time retail job, I made a trip to Goodwill to buy clothes that fit the company dress code.
We aren’t allowed to wear anything casual, and can only wear specific colors. It was winter when I went, but I was able to find several pieces that I’ve been wearing for the last five months.
However, now that I’m putting away some of my work-appropriate sweaters, I knew I’d need a few more pieces to get me through spring.
So, I visited my favorite online stop for thrifted clothes: ThredUp!
I really needed tops, and if I could find them, pants — although pants online are just difficult to buy (for me, anyway)
Luckily, ThredUp was having a sale on top of its already great prices.
I was able to find some fantastic items that I’ve already worn to work and gotten so many compliments on.
Good American Bodysuit in Python
I saw this bodysuit and nearly screamed. I am always looking for Good American items on ThredUp because I don’t want to pay retail, and this bodysuit was new, with tags, and in a python print — which is my favorite type of animal print.
I added it to my cart, and it was roughly 20% of what I’d pay for it on Good American’s site.
I’ve worn it to work twice now, pairing it with some faux leather pants I got at Goodwill (as part of my haul back in November). I love the long sleeves on it, as I think it gives a sleek look.
Calvin Klein Boho Jumpsuit
This is another item I was shocked to find!
I’m always looking for a cute jumper on ThredUp because while I really want that popular Free People one, there’s no way I’m paying the retail price for it.
I know it’s a long shot even looking for it, but I’m waiting for the next best thing, I guess.
This Calvin Klein jumpsuit isn’t a trade for the Free People one, but it’s perfect for work, travel, or an outing with friends.
It’s black and white with an Aztec print all over. It’s sleeveless with a scoop neck and an elastic waist with a drawstring. Not only did this fit, but it’s so flattering!
I wore it to work with a lavender cropped cardigan, and it’s so cute and comfortable.
This retailed for #200+ and it was $38 on ThredUp. Major score!
Philosophy Republic Clothing Long Sleeve Blouse
I went on this online shopping trip knowing I needed tops, and this one looked so cute.
I’m not familiar with Philosophy Republic Clothing, but this was a sheer white button-up blouse with black piping. Simple, but so cute, and I could pair it with any of the four “work pants” I already had.
It was only $12, so I bought it, and it’s actually one of my favorite items from this order.
It fits loose but looks professional, and it has sleeves that flare at the wrist, which looks so luxe — and it’s something I couldn’t see from the online picture. I love this piece!
Good American Long Sleeve Blouse
I was shocked to find another Good American piece but excited because I needed a good white top.
This one is a twist on a classic because it looks like a crisp, white button-up, but it’s low-cut and cinches under the bustline.
It’s a little too low-cut for my comfort level but looks just as nice with a tank underneath paired with dress pants.
One thing I love about thrifting is being able to push my personal style boundaries because I’m not limited by the price. If I only wear it a few times, it was not expensive nor harmful to the environment.
If you’re new to ThredUp, you can try it and get $10 off your order, using my link below.
Happy thrifting!
