You’ve heard of pillow slides, right? They are squishy sandals (in a single-strap slide style), and they’ve been all over the internet lately.
If I had to guess, it’s a TikTok thing, but I’m not on TikTok, so…?
Anyway, I saw some fashion influencers talking about them on Instagram recently and, although I don’t find them visually appealing on their own, they looked cute on the ladies.
So, I dug a little deeper.
Turns out, the hype is because of their comfort — feels like you’re walking on a pillow!
But, there are also other benefits, one of them being for your joints.
I perked up at this.
Since working retail years ago, if I’m on my feet for long, my knees start to hurt. This is one reason I wear slippers all year long!
I decided to buy a pair, but only if I could find them on Poshmark (I’m continuing to try and shop thrift or small businesses as much as possible).
I quickly found lots of them on Poshmark and bought two pairs — one for me and one for my mom, who has had joint paint since recovering from COVID in 2021.
Note: you can use code THEBITTERLEMON & get $10 off your first Poshmark order!
I bought a yellow pair for myself, and a pale green pair for my mom.
When they arrived, I immediately put my pair on and walked around my apartment. They definitely were squishy (but not too much that it was difficult to walk), and very comfortable.
I ordered my same size 6, and they were a tad snug. However, after wearing them a few times, they fit just fine!
I have been wearing them around my apartment, mostly when I’m on my feet for long periods, like when I’m cooking or cleaning.
Another plus is you can rinse them off and they dry quickly. I definitely spilled sauce or something while cooking and there was no harm done.
I have worn them outside some (I accidentally took a long walk in them one day at lunch), and the more I wear them, the more I like them!
What do you all think of these slides?
