I grew up in the 90’s and pop music was IT. My first real obsession was with Hanson. I will never forget when I went to middle school orientation, I saw a girl taping Hanson posters in her locker… we became great friends, and are still friends to this day!
I also loved the Backstreet Boys and NSYNC. I remember seeing the Backstreet Boys in concert and being so, so sad the next day because it was over and they were gone!
Over the years, I’ve been really lucky to be able to see Hanson, the Backstreet Boys, NSYNC, and LFO (remember them?!) in concert, which is always so fun.
I saw Hanson during the holidays and a few years ago, saw the Backstreet Boys during their Vegas residency (complete with sequined blazers). Perfection!
During this quarantine, I have been searching for anything that’s going to lift my spirits and I’m not sure if it’s all the teenage dramas I’ve been watching, but I got the idea to make a cheesy, boy band playlist for my (and yours) listening pleasure.
And I’m happy to report that it is ready to ROLL. 75 songs of complete bliss, possibly some laughs, but it’s really a labor of love… and I have been listening to it while I clean or cook — it’s fantastic!
Here are some of the songs I included:
- “Back Here” by BBMAK
- “The Hardest Thing” by 98 Degrees
- “All or Nothing” by O-Town
- “Slam Dunk” by Five
- “Step by Step” by New Kids on the Block
- “End of the Road” by Boys II Men
- “I’ll be Your Everything” by Youngstown
Of course, there are loads of songs from the Backstreet Boys and NSYNC, but I also included songs from Justin Timberlake and JC Chasez, even though technically they aren’t “boy bands” … it’s all a vibe, you know?
Here’s where you can listen to the playlist. Full disclosure: I use the free version of Spotify, so they aren’t in any kind of order. I hit shuffle and enjoy being surprised at what song comes next 🙂
I will be updating the playlist as I think of more songs to add! What were/are some of your favorite boy band songs?
I hope you all have a great weekend. Put on this playlist and belt it out!
