A Review: Pixi Glowtion Day Dew.

I just finished a restorative yoga class and am typing this from the complete comfort of my bed. It’s day 31 of quarantine for me, and to be honest, I didn’t really think we’d all still be locked away.

But, here we are! On the one hand, not having the pressure to leave my house and spend extra money is easing a majority of the anxiety I have about getting work and paying bills during this strange time.

On the other hand, actually doing work is a continuous struggle. I find that some days, I feel ok and other days, it’s really tough to get out of bed. No day feels great, but I know we are all doing the best we can.

I have tried to make sure I’m still doing yoga five times each week, reading books to escape, making playlists to listen to while I clean or write, and I’ve enjoyed putting on makeup for the days I film my Patreon videos.

One product I’ve been loving lately is one I found in a clearance bin at Target several months back: Pixi Glowtion Day Dew — a brightening lotion. Here’s the scoop:

A lightweight, radiance-boosting moisturizer that soothes while blurring imperfections & giving a lit-from-within glow. Advanced illuminating skin-perfector nourishes & soothes while giving a boost to dull skin; Featherlight and hydrating, this moisturizer imparts a natural-looking radiance to skintone; Makes skin look healthier & more even; Lavender oil calms, kaolin purifies, and mica brightens; and Not tested on animals.

Per the name, you’re supposed to use this in the morning. I have been using it instead of moisturizer and if I’m putting on makeup, I use it after my facial spray or toner, and before my primer.

It’s a white lotion, but it definitely has that pink-purple glow to it — almost like a bubble does. When I pumped it (it does have a pump, which is nice) I thought it might be TOO glowy, but when I put it on, it’s just right.

I feel like there are a lot of products out there (especially right now) that say they’ll provide a glow, but actually do nothing. You can see the glow with this stuff!

Now, you can use this as I mentioned, or you can also use it as a liquid highlighter and dab it on the high points of your face after you apply foundation, tinted moisturizer or BB cream.

On the Pixi website, the Glowtion Day Dew is listed as one of its best-sellers, right along with two similar products: H20 Skin Drink and Beauty Sleep Cream.

I haven’t tried either of them (yet), but I am always on the hunt for an affordable night cream. The Glowtion Day Dew is $22 (I found it on Amazon for $13) and the Beauty Sleep Cream is $24 — not bad.

I continue to be impressed with Pixi products and am always looking forward to trying a new one! If you’ve tried a Pixi product that you’ve enjoyed, let me know what it was in the comments.

I hope you all are continuing to stay well — take care of yourselves out there. If you need an audio treat, here’s my latest favorite: “Inside Friend” by John Mayer and Leon Bridges.
