A Review: e.l.f. Cosmetics Aqua Beauty Aqua Infused Blush & Bronzer.

It’s the first beauty review of the year! Okay, promise I won’t keep saying that about everything I post on here (it’s the first book post of the year, etc.). I’ve been planning to write about this product for awhile now because it’s different and it’s only $6!

I saw it — the e.l.f. Cosmetics Aqua Beauty Aqua Infused Blush & Bronzer duo — when beauty blogger Courtney Kerr picked it up during a trip. She said the colors reminded her of a Nars blush she loved. I have never tried Nars, but I know it’s a much higher price-point, so I was intrigued.

So, the next time I made an Ulta order I added one to my cart. There were two color options, and I bought the same one Courtney had in bronzed pink beige. Here is the official product description:

This hydrating e.l.f. Cosmetics Aqua Beauty Aqua Infused Blush & Bronzer duo gives skin a radiant looking glow, thanks to cushiony color that’s infused with purified water and Vitamin E. Blend the complimentary shades across cheekbones for a gorgeous, dewy flush. This formula has a soft touch, bouncy, cushion-like texture. It’s light like a powder but melts into the skin like a cream and allows you to build customizable color from sheer to bold. Cruelty free and vegan.

When I got the product, I was pleasantly surprised with the packaging. It was much bigger than I expected for a $6 set and the plastic was really hard and the compact has a full mirror — all of it seemed high-end!

When I dipped my brush into it though, I was a little taken aback. When they said “aqua infused” they were NOT kidding. This is much, much more creamy than I expected — think more of a bar soap texture than a cream, but definitely not a powder.

For my daily makeup routine, I usually use a standard foundation and set my entire face with powder, and then use a powder blush and bronzer. So… I was curious about how this was going to apply.

To my surprise though, you don’t have to put much product on your brush for this to show up and it blends VERY nicely. It has a very natural feel. I even used the bronzer as my eyeshadow and it makes everything very cohesive.

I started using this every day and a few weeks later, I was at TJ Maxx digging through the clearance section when I saw a few packages of these! They had the other color I didn’t buy (bronzed violet) for $2 and I snatched it right up! The colors weren’t shades I normally would’ve picked up… but $2!

I have since used the bronzed violet as well and I love it just as much as the other compact. I definitely recommend this product, even if you’re not usually a “cream” makeup person. This would be perfect for travel, gym bag, or every day — especially if you’re going for a natural look.

Are there other e.l.f. products you’ve tried and loved? I admit, I hadn’t tried much from this brand because I always thought it wouldn’t be good quality for the price. Shame on me!
