A Review: H20+ Beauty.

Cheers for the weekend! I’m so embarrassed to admit that I was SUCH a hermit this week. All year, since I started working from home, I’ve really tried to make an effort to get to a workout class — not only to get myself moving, but also to just get out of the apartment.

It sounds ridiculous that it’s sometimes so difficult for me to do, but it is! I think if I start the week off and go to yoga Monday night, then it sets myself up for a much better week. I did, however, go to yoga last night and signed up to go to a dance class today, so that’s something!

For the last few weeks, I’ve been using several H20+ Beauty products I got from the clearance aisle at Ulta. I love the sampler packs and I got two that were around $6 each!

Before I jump into my review, I will say that I should have opened the boxes and looked inside the products because a few of them were dried up and I wasn’t able to use them. But, that’s clearance aisle life 🙂 Here’s what I was able to try:

H20+ Beauty Aquadefense Refining Matcha Detox Mask

Product description:

Pores can be stubborn and sometimes don’t want to let go of the dirt and toxins they’re holding on to. That’s when we use this peel-off mask that’s formulated with matcha green tea and rice bran extracts, and powered by pure water. It acts like a giant magnet, attracting all the impurities and excess oil deep down in your pores and then removing them once you take it off. Your skin will be perfectly purified and detoxed afterward, plus it’ll feel silky smooth while looking more refined too.

This mask is dark green in color and even has a little bit of shimmer in it! Obviously, that’s pointless when it comes it its ability to clean skin, but it made me excited when I squeezed it out of the tube. I’m particular about peel-off masks; I feel like some of them are so sticky it almost hurts when you peel it off!

This is not like that; it’s actually really nice and gentle, but my skin felt soft after using it. I have the travel size and it’s got plenty for several uses.

H20+ Beauty Elements Keep it Fresh Face Cleanser

Product description:

This luxurious face cleanser, with Water Lily extract, smooths and quenches as it gently washes away dirt, oil, and makeup. It preps your complexion for whatever comes next, whether that’s your pillow or more makeup.

Ok, I cannot write this review without mentioning something weird that happened when I bought these products. The cashier at Ulta was really excited that I got all of this on sale and then he said, “I wanted to get their foundation, but it’s full of chemicals!”

Uhhmmm…. Now, I am just now starting to wonder about the ingredients in my beauty products. I made the switch with household products years ago, but I think deep-down I know that my makeup and skincare products are likely full of junk and I don’t want to toss them.

So, every time I washed my face with this clear, gel cleanser, I wondered if I was just putting chemicals into my body. To resolve this, I got the Think Dirty app, which allows you to scan beauty products and it tells you if there are any ingredients that are very harmful, moderately harmful, or totally clean. It wasn’t even in their database. I added the information, but haven’t seen the results yet. On the website it lists all the bad things they DON’T use, so that makes me feel a little better.

Aside from all of that, I’d say this is a pretty average cleanser. It’s gentle, I used it with my Clarisonic and just with my hands and my skin felt clean but not dry. It’s nothing crazy, though.

H20+ Beauty Waterbright Massaging Eye Roller

Product description:

The cooling gel delivers a surge of instantly cooling hydration. Featuring Pomelo and Snowflake Flower extracts and a burst of caffeine, it helps reduce dark circles and puffiness while illuminating pigments instantly brighten skin.

I am so late to the game on any type of eye cream, but in the last few years I’ve been trying to use them regularly. This is the first time I’ve ever tried a roller, and I used it as soon as I stepped out of the store. This stuff is a GAME CHANGER. I immediately felt the tightening effects and it felt so smooth… I love it!

H20+ Beauty Oasis Hydrating Eye Balm

Product Description:

This powerfully hydrating eye balm contains a concentrated blast of caffeine, a surge of deep cooling moisture, and Water Lily extract to help soften and nourish.

So, this was a little dried out, so I obviously don’t want to speak too much on it. I think it would be really nice if it were fresh of course, but I don’t think this was better than the Physician’s Formula Cucumber under-eye stick. I like how slim this one is, but I’ve tried better!
