A Review: DryBar Sparkling Soda Shine Mist.

A few months ago, I bought several products from DryBar and it was my first time trying out the brand! I got shampoo, conditioner, detangling spray, and several other sprays, including the Sparkling Soda Shine Mist.

So, now that I’ve been using it for awhile, it’s safe to say I can report back with all of my thoughts. I always have to mention before any haircare product review, that I’m much more into makeup and skincare.

But, I do have colored hair, so I’ve been making a conscious effort to try more haircare products and pay attention to how they work. When I bought the Sparkling Soda Shine Mist, I honestly just thought it sounded like a great way to finish a hairstyle.

From my understanding, it’s not a spray that makes your hair “hold” a certain style, nor does it provide volume. It’s a light mist that provides finishing shine, and all of the reviews I read said it smelled wonderful!

It really does smell amazing and I’d keep buying it just for that. At first, I was only using this on my hair when I straightened it. I spritzed it around the middle and the ends of my hair, which always could use smoothing.

That is, until I was searching Ulta’s website for a travel UV-protectant. I always use a color-protecting spray before I leave the house. And lookie-loo, here’s what the product description says:

Drybar Sparkling Soda Shine Mist calms flyaways, static, and frizz without weighing down hair. Great for all hair types including keratin and color-treated hair, it imparts luminous shine and contains UV absorbers to keep color vibrant and prevent color fading. Mandarin peel reflects light evenly for a natural shine while marigold flower extract creates a long-lasting luster. Camelina oil adds hydration and boosts elasticity.

I use it every single day!

The Sparkling Soda Shine Mist was named as one of Hollywood’s top hair products because of the way it could replace shine serums without being heavy. It’s been applauded for its even application and its ability to banish static.

Between the smell, the shine, and how it protects my hair — I will be buying this product for years to come!

I also saw that DryBar released a new spray just in time for the holidays: Shimmer Spritzer Spray in rose gold or yellow gold. This provides subtle shimmer and hold, and rinses out of the hair after a single wash. It’s sold exclusively at Sephora and I’m thinking I need it, but which color?
