Every time I head to the pool or the beach, I round up all of my facial products that have an SPF. Technically, I should be doing this every day, right? So, I went through my entire stash of makeup and sun care goodies and have put together the ultimate list of makeup and cosmetics that have an SPF.
Please note that these are all products I own, bought with my own money (or was gifted to me by my mom), and have tried. If there are additional products out there that you’ve tried, please let me know in the comments!
SPF Moisturizer
A great moisturizer with an SPF is an easy way to ensure you’re protected from the sun everyday, whether you wear makeup or not.
Clinique Pep-Start Hydrorush Moisturizer (SPF 20): I bought this in the spring and I love it! It’s a thicker texture (which I enjoy) and doesn’t have that SPF smell that many other products have. It’s oil-free, so it’s not greasy! Amazon, $35
MD Solar Sciences Daily Anti-Aging Moisturizer (SPF 30): This came in one of my monthly Birchboxes and remains to be a staple in my beach bag. It’s a lighter texture than the Clinique, but perfect to wear alone or under makeup. Amazon, $25-$75
BareMinerals Complexion Rescue Tinted Hydrating Gel Cream (SPF 30): This was a part of a kit I got — I am a real sucker for kits! It’s really a light moisturizer and you don’t have to use it with the BareMinerals system. It’s also tinted and comes in several different shades, so you could wear it alone. Amazon, $21
SPF BB Cream
Many BB creams have SPF, but I admit I’ve never been huge on these — I have nothing against them, I’ve just only tried a few! Let me know if you have a favorite 🙂
IPKN Moist & Firm BB (SPF 45): Another Birchbox goodie (I’ve been getting them for 4+ years, so I’ve tried many things) and I love the thicker, yet smooth texture of this one. It’s tinted (available in multiple shades) and great for “no makeup” days. I’m taking this on my vacation this month, to wear under my usual makeup. Amazon, $27
COOLA Mineral Sunscreen Natural BB Cream (SPF 30): If you’ve ever tried liquid mineral products, they have a texture that’s… different. While this is not my favorite, I will say it’s light and has a matte finish. It’s also water-resistant and slightly tinted. Amazon, $36
L’Oreal Paris Advanced Suncare Silky Sheer BB Face Lotion (SPF 30): I found this in a clearance bin at Big Lots! I originally bought it for a music festival that was hosted on the beach. It’s a very light, thin formula and it provides coverage without feeling heavy. It’s lightly tinted and water-resistant. Amazon, $12
SPF Primer
COOLA Dawn Patrol Classic Primer (SPF 30): This is a primer WIN! It’s very similar to my favorite primer (from BareMinerals) with the added SPF. Clear smooth gel texture puts makeup on so soft. COOLA, $42
Murad Oil-Control Mattifier (SPF 15): Another Birchbox win! Any Murad products are always worth the splurge, and while this technically isn’t labeled as a primer, it keeps oil at bay for a clean makeup look plus sun protection. Amazon, $46
SPF Foundation
CliniqueFIT Workout Makeup (SPF 40): I got this in the spring and LOVE it. Honestly, this is one of the best foundations I’ve ever used and I am constantly getting compliments when I wear it! It’s a very thin texture, but it has full coverage and the SPF scent is nearly unnoticeable. Amazon, $21
BareMinerals Matte Foundation (SPF 15): This is a fairly new product and I snatched it up when Ulta was having a sale. I have always loved their original formula and am not against a matte look. I love this formula just as much as I love the original! Amazon, $21
BareMinerals Original Foundation (SPF 15): Honestly, BareMinerals has got to be my favorite cosmetics and skincare line. I am all about trying new things, but I know I’m going to get a quality product with them. This is worth a shot, even if you need full coverage (I do) and are unsure about using a powder foundation. Amazon, $21
SPF Powder
Peter Thomas Roth Instant Mineral (SPF 45): I got this at Ulta and when I saw it, I just thought it was the coolest idea ever. I know there are similar products by other brands, but I have always loved and trusted Peter Thomas Roth products! This is a product you can toss in your purse for sunscreen touch ups — perfect for travel. Peter Thomas Roth, $30
SPF Setting Spray
COOLA Organic Makeup Setting Sunscreen Spray (SPF 30): Another win from COOLA — honestly, they never disappoint. This product is one I’ve used for outdoor events. Use all of your favorite, non-SPF makeup products, and then spritz this on at the end and you’re good to go. It does have that sunscreen scent, but works just as great as any setting spray. Amazon, $32
SPF Lip Products
Mission Skincare Lip Balmer (SPF 15): Two of these were in my Christmas stocking and they are fantastic. Lip balm with SPF is difficult to come by, which seems weird, but it’s true! I have the sweet vanilla flavor, along with the mint, and both are fantastic! Amazon, $9
Perricone MD No Makeup Lipstick (SPF 15): This was a free gift from Ulta if I spent a certain amount of money, and I jumped at it! I had never tried this brand and I’m so glad I got this; it’s very high-quality lipstick and I love the color (it’s a universal rose). The SPF is a complete bonus and makes this a great shade all year ’round. Amazon, $18
Neutrogena Moistureshine Lip Soother Gloss (SPF 20): I think SPF lipgloss has got to be the best — I always toss one of these in my beach bag, because obviously I can’t be seen without shiny lips! These come in a handful of different colors, but all provide high shine and protection. Amazon, $6
… And there’s my list of makeup with SPF! I know some of these products have become my favorites. What SPF products do you love?
