Wahoooooo! We’re right up against the weekend, folks! I had so much work to do this week and I really worked hard to get it done so I could take a half-day and get my hair done today. I know, tough life.
But it’s Friday and I know lots of people will be celebrating this weekend, whether it’s the Kentucky Derby or Cinco de Mayo, so I thought I’d share my Patio playlist!
I whipped it together last weekend and I have been listening to it ever since. I was on my patio aaaalll day last Saturday making a DIY outdoor table — I’ll share more about this when I share a complete patio update.
I also had this craft kit I got from Five Below a few weeks ago, it was a Festival Rocks kit that came with various flat stones and basically metallic tattoos that you put on the rocks. It took me three hours to get it finished, but the rocks look great and I put them in my potted plants; they look so cool when the sun is shining.
So, here’s a little more about my Patio playlist. I wanted it to be a really good mix of genres, but also a mix of upbeat songs and some are more chill. Lots of them are old favorites, and I sprinkled in a few new goodies.
Here are some of my favorites on the playlist.
New Tunes
I’ll admit I don’t listen to music on the radio much anymore, so sometimes I feel slightly out of touch when it comes to the new stuff… but right now I am loving Post Malone and Ariana Grande’s entire vibe is such a goal for me.
“Tequila” by Dan + Shea
“Lost in Japan” by Shawn Mendes
“Talk” by Khalid
“Thank U, Next” by Ariana Grande
“Wow” by Post Malone
Classic Favorites
I can’t have a fun playlist without including some classic favorites — I love putting this kind of stuff on when I’m feeling low; always cheers me right up.
“Summer Breeze” by Seals and Crofts
“Cherry Bomb” by John Mellencamp
“Mr. Jones” by the Counting Crows
“Killer Queen” by Queen
“Isn’t She Lovely” by Stevie Wonder
Songs for Smiles
I always like to put some of these “guilty pleasure” songs on a playlist. Whether you’re by yourself or with a group, these are the kinds of songs that everyone knows the words to but might just be a little afraid to belt them out.
“Summer Girls” by LFO
“Unwritten” by Natasha Bedingfield
“Pieces of Me” by Ashlee Simpson
Ones That Take Me Back
As the weather gets warmer, I tend to reminisce about my summers as a teenager in Indiana. There were some times I’ll never forget, and I don’t mind putting on a little country to remember the late nights, winding country roads, and all the laughs.
“Fast Cars and Freedom” by Rascal Flatts
“Wide Open Spaces” by the Dixie Chicks
“Back for a Taste of Your Love” by Jonny Lang
There are several more songs on the playlist (there’s around 50 or so songs currently) and I’ll probably keep adding to it, so check it out and give it a listen — let me know what you think!
I have plans to relax this weekend, but who knows if it will actually end up that way… either way I hope you all have a great few days!
