Happy Friday! I feel like everyone – clients, friends, heck, even my only coworker (kitty Blanche) has been dragging this week. It’s really tough getting out of the holiday slump this year!
I definitely am looking forward to a fresh start next week. But! There’s something else on my agenda next week, and that’s the start of a new semester for “Blogging for Beginners”, which is the Informal Course I teach at the University of Texas at Austin.
Here’s the scoop:
Are you curious about blogs and the blogosphere? Do you have a passion you wish to share with the world? Have you started a blog but need direction and/or promotional help? In this class, you will explore the basic concepts, tools, and functions to create a living, successful blog. Learn the ins and outs of three blogging platforms, including WordPress, BlogSpot, and Tumblr. You will also encounter other bloggers and complete assignments to ensure your experience in this class is helpful in the blogging world.
Our first class is Wednesday, January 9, from 6-8 pm at UT, and the class runs for five weeks. If you’d like to sign up, there are still seats – register here.
This is a class I created seven years ago when I was working at Louisiana State University. I have always loved to blog, and I felt like I kept meeting people who wanted to start a blog, but had no idea where to begin.
So, I created a syllabus, a course, and even wrote and published a textbook!
When I moved from Baton Rouge to Austin, I knew I had to see if the opportunity for me to teach it again would be an option, and it was! I have met so many great students, and I’m proud when I see one of them finish a blog!
