How to Feel more Confident in Yourself (Starting Today)

If you don’t believe in yourself, then you can’t hope for other people to believe in you either. If you want to turn things around, then here are a few things that you can do to try and help yourself.

Posture

The way that you carry yourself, or your posture can say a lot about your confidence. The next time you walk around the city, take a look at how many people are hunched over, looking at the ground or just trying to avoid eye-contact in general. Then, try and pick out people who are walking tall, and who radiate confidence just by walking down the street. This will help you to understand how powerful your posture can be, and how much of an impact it could have on the way that people see you. If you want to try and turn things around then walk tall, keep your shoulders back and be aware of everything around you. You’ll instantly feel better, and everyone will notice a huge difference.

Change your Environment

Research has shown that spending all day in an office can have a detrimental impact on your mood. If this is the case, then you need to try and get out more. Spend some time walking in areas that have a lot of greenery, or change up your environment a bit. This will help you to stimulate your brain and it will also completely change your perception too. If you want to get the best result out of this, then think of the places where you feel happiest, or most creative. It could be at your local coffee shop, at the park or even just walking to work. When you have focused on the ideal place, try and go there when you feel low in confidence.

Reframe your Thoughts

Low confidence can often be associated with negative thoughts. Your thoughts will also have an impact on your decision and your behaviour too. If you want to stop this from having a huge impact on your life, then you need to try and reframe those thoughts. So, if you are worried about not looking good enough at an office party, stop those thoughts in their tracks, and instead, focus on what outfit you are going to wear. Plan out your accessories, and even choose a nice eyeshadow palette that compliments it too.

Future Thought

When you feel yourself getting anxious about something, try and visualise your future where you handle everything in a controlled and confident manner. You need to imagine every aspect of it, such as what you’d say, how you’d say it and even the reactions of those around you. When you do this, you will soon feel much better about yourself and you will also make it much easier to feel more confident on a day to day basis.

Remember that confidence doesn’t need to be out of your grasp and that it’s more than possible for you to make a change now that will go on to benefit your future.
