I’ve been a loyal Ulta shopper for many years (and have even worked there for ~two years) and have mastered its Ulta Beauty Rewards program.
Obviously, I’m biased, but I think it’s the best retail rewards program out there, and if you play it right, you can get loads of free goodies.
Typically, I cash in my rewards each year for big-ticket items. In the past, I’ve used my points to buy a $200+ styling tool set from Dry Bar and a $300 line of skincare from Kate Somerville, among other things.
That’s why one of my paid subscribers asked me to write my personal Ulta Beauty Rewards Playbook! Let’s get into it.
Step one: Register for a Rewards account
Signing up for Ulta Beauty Rewards is free and simple. Register your email or phone number in-store (at the cash register) or online. This is how you’ll start earning points.
You’ll earn points when you shop in-store, online, or in the Ulta app, as long as your Rewards account is associated with that purchase.
The Rewards program also gives you coupons, a birthday gift, and other exclusive perks (we’ll get into this a little more in a bit).
Is the Rewards program collecting data on you? Yes. This is why I heard “no” at the cash register when I worked at Ulta and asked folks to sign up for the program.
Obviously, do what you want. But for me, everything in today’s world is collecting data, and I may as well earn free goodies for it.
