A big part of my 2024 goals is using what I have. This idea applies to several areas of my life, but a large one is my stash of beauty and skincare products.
During a cleaning and organizing marathon last fall, I realized a lot of my clutter was a result of ordering lots of products when I didn’t need to (but I wanted to because they were on sale).
So, I vowed to not place an Ulta order until I actually ran out of something… and I placed my first order over the weekend.
I repeat that’s a single order I’ve placed at Ulta since mid-December! For someone who used to place at least two orders per month, this is HUGE.
I’m proud of myself for not breaking my personal rule, and even when I shopped, I only got a few things. I am learning — slowly but surely — how to pull back from consumerist habits.
So, I wanted to share what I got! Some of these items are completely new to me, so I’ll be reporting back.
Oh K! Skin Rejuvenating Under Eye Masks
These are my favorite under-eye masks, especially when there’s not much time. Instead of serum, they have an eye cream with Bakuchiol and squalane, which improves the look of fine lines and helps lock in moisture. I keep these in my fridge so they’re cool and help me wake up in the morning.
Sugardoh Pits to Pubes Sugaring Kit
This is the item I’m most-excited to try! I’ve been wanting to venture into waxing, so I did some research about top-rated at-home waxing kits. What I found was sugaring, which is supposedly less-painful than waxing and good for beginners.
The kit comes with the sugaring paste, cloth strips, and an applicator. I’ll be reporting back on this!
Kitsch Solid Shave Butter Bar
I have been using Tree Hut’s shave gel for years, and I love it, but I used up my current bottle and have been wanting to try a package-free option. This Kitsch shave bar has amazing reviews and I’m so excited to try it!
Oh K! Caffeine Eye Mask
This was actually a free gift but is a favorite of mine — Oh K! is an amazing, affordable brand to check out if you haven’t yet!
Tree Hut Dewy Daisy Shea Sugar Scrub
I love Tree Hut’s body scrubs! I had QUITE the stash of these that I used up and am now able to restock (one at a time, of course). The Dewy Daisy is a newer scent and I am excited to try it. I want to try the Rainbow Sherbet scent next time!
Oh k! Marine Algae Cream Mask
This is a newer item (I saw it around Christmas) that I’ve been wanting to try for months. It’s a cream-based mask, and I’m assuming it will be similar to the under eye masks I like… but for my entire face! In the name of using what I have, I’ve been using sheet masks from my stash more frequently. I used to mostly use them for travel, but they’re nice at home, too.
