Podcasts I’ve Been Listening to.

I used to share podcast recommendations frequently, but I’ve been listening to the same podcasts for years, so I really had nothing to share.

Until now!

I’ve got five podcasts I’ve been enjoying lately, so I thought I’d share.

“Back to the Beach” | TV & Film

Go behind the scenes of everyone’s favorite iconic hit MTV reality TV series, “Laguna Beach: The Real Orange County,” with OG cast members, Kristin Cavallari and Stephen Colletti, as they rewatch episodes for the first time in 18 years.

I was OBSESSED with “Laguna Beach” (and, ok, I still am), so when I saw this podcast, I was so excited to listen. However, I wanted to do it the right way, so not only did I wait until all the episodes were released but I also rewatched the show as I listened.

I would listen to an episode of the podcast, then watch the episode of show they’d just discussed and it was a WILD, fun binge. Not only is it fun to hear Kristin and Stephen today (he sounds so sweet!), but they do not spare any detail when it comes to how the show was created, filmed, and edited.

They also interview most of their other castmates (including LC) and the show’s creator, which was fascinating to hear. I absolutely loved listening to this!

“All There is With Anderson Cooper” | Grief & Loss

Do we ever move on from grief, or do we just learn to live with it? All There Is with Anderson Cooper is about the people we lose, the people left behind, and how we can live on – with loss and with love.

I love Anderson Cooper, and I knew he had a podcast focused on grief, but I wanted to wait until I was fully ready to listen. I started season one in the fall, and quickly listened to all of the episodes in just a few days.

In season one, Anderson explores his own grief as he cleans out his late mom’s house, which also holds belongings from his late father and brother.

While it wasn’t always an easy listen, it was very comforting to me and I was excited to hear season two would be out soon. The season two finale was just released last week, and this season focuses more on the grief experienced by others.

“Fat Mascara” | Beauty & Arts

Beauty journalists (and friends!) Jessica Matlin and Jennifer Sullivan bring you the big, juicy world of beauty twice a week via insider access to the industry, news and culture. They also interview their favorite people in the business, including celebrities, makeup artists, perfumers, dermatologists, plastic surgeons, and more.

I just started listening to this one a few weeks ago, but was immediately influenced when they interviewed a celebrity facialist — I’ve been massaging my face every morning since!

There are two new episodes per week, one is news and the other is an interview. If you’re a beauty or skincare junkie, it’s a fun way to keep up with trends and the industry.

“Let’s Be Honest With Kristin Cavallari” | Society & Culture

In her lifestyle podcast, Cavallari dives into what connects people (and breaks them up), what makes people feel physically and spiritually healthy, and how to love yourself along the way.

Kristin announced this podcast shortly after “Back to the Beach” ended, and since I liked that one so much, I was a little hesitant to jump on this one. But, truthfully, I’m such a big fan of hers that I couldn’t NOT listen, and it’s more entertaining than I anticipated.

“Honest” is a word lots of celebs use to make it seem like you’re getting the real scoop, but I truly feel like she’s coming at these interviews and personal stories with no real agenda other than to be real. She interviews prior and current reality stars, and it’s interesting to hear them compare their experiences.

“Just Jack & Will with Sean Hayes and Eric McCormack” | TV & Film

Sean Hayes and Eric McCormack return to host the ultimate Will & Grace re-watch podcast. Each week on JUST JACK & WILL, Sean, who has never seen it before, and Eric, who may have seen it too much, break down an episode of Will & Grace with charm and chemistry.

They revisit jokes, share never before heard stories, reunite with their fellow cast members and fabulous guest stars, and showcase the team who helped Will & Grace win an astounding 18 Emmy Awards.

Out of all the podcasts listed here, THIS is my favorite! I listen to it every Thursday (when a new episode comes out) when I wake up — I truly love it.

Of course, I loved (and still love) watching episodes of “Will & Grace,” so I love that they are rewatching it, but it’s so much better than a typical rewatch podcast. Not only do they share tidbits about the writing of the show and how it was filmed, they also interview someone else from the show in every episode (including James Burrows and Debra Messing).

“Scamanda” | True Crime

Award winning journalist Charlie Webster explores this unbelievable and bizarre, but all-too-real tale, of a woman from San Jose, California whose secret ripped a family apart and left a community in shock.

I listened to this in the fall, but it was so riventing… I listened to the entire thing in one day!

This podcast is a full investigation of a women named Amanda who fakes being sick for money and attention, and it is creepy, wild, and very well produced. Perfect to listen to while working on a project or taking a road trip!
