A Review: Kitsch Satin Heatless Curling Set.

I know these heatless rollers (and other heatless options) have been around for decades. But I never gave them a second thought until recently.

When I started my 9-5 WFH job, I promised myself I’d “get ready” for work at least 2x per week. I like wearing makeup, and I have all sorts of cute clothes.

So, on days when I have several Zoom meetings, I’ll put on some light makeup (see my Zoom makeup routine) and a blouse.

But my hair? I never know what to do with it. I color it, so I try not to use heat on it much, and pulling it back or putting it in a clip looks weird on video calls (I know no one cares, but still).

Enter a heatless curling option.

I looked at the reviews online before deciding to buy and quickly realized they were worth a try.

I wasn’t sure what type to get for the look I was going for — I wanted it to look more like a blowout and less like spiral curls.

So I bought three different sets of heatless rollers: the Kitsch Satin Heatless Curling Set, the Kitsch Rosewood Satin Flexi Rods, and the Kitsch Rosewood Jumbo Satin Flexi Rods.

I had a feeling the jumbo curlers wouldn’t work for my shoulder-length hair, but I wanted to test the options.

When the rollers arrived, I washed my hair and let it air dry completely. The directions on the boxes said to use the rollers with damp hair, but all the reviews said DRY hair only!

Then, I sat down with all the boxes and started playing with the various rollers.

Generally speaking, the jumbo rollers were way too big for my length of hair and the standard-sized flexi rods were difficult to work with. They kept sliding out of my hair, even after the hair was rolled up and secured!

So, I moved on to the Heatless Curling Set, which was one long rod and two satin scrunchies.

I followed the directions on the box from this point forward, securing the single rod in the center of my scalp with a clip and then wrapping as much of my hair around the rod and securing it with the scrunchies.

It was pretty easy to do, but I was 100% sure all of my hair was going to come out of the roller while I slept.

But, when I wokeup the next morning, everything was still intact! I was shocked!

I posted a video of myself taking the roller out of my hair and posted it on my Instagram account, and so many people messaged me pleasantly surprised with how my hair looked.

My hair was smooth (not frizzy) and had loose curls. If you have longer hair, the curls will be tighter.

The curls lasted all day using no product, and someone at work even asked me about my hairstyle!

I put the foam roller in again a few nights later, and this time, I used the standard-sized roller to curl my bangs separately and put the rest of my hair in the single long roller.

This option has had the best results so far! When I took the rollers out, my hair had volume and loose curls. I added some mousse to hold it longer, and it was great.

If you’re looking for a heatless way to style your hair, I would definitely recommend the Set (long roller with two scrunchies). It would also be a fun gift for the beauty lover in your life!
