A Review: Dreo Nomad One Tower Fan.

I think it’s safe to say that no matter where you live right now, it’s so hot outside. There’s nothing I enjoy LESS than talking about the weather, so to clarify, I’m only mentioning it because the high temperatures forced me into buying a fan.

I live in a roughly 500-sq ft apartment, and it has one ceiling fan, which is in my bedroom. I have one wall that’s nearly entirely windows — there’s a large window in my bedroom, and that same wall in my living room has a sliding glass door.

I’m not sure when my apt complex was built, but it’s not new, and I know I lose a lot of my efforts to regulate the temperature right out the windows (literally).

Even in the summer months, I try to be as conservative with the AC as possible (I never turn on the heat in the winter) but I feel like I turned it on earlier than ever this year.

So, when I started getting text alerts from the city about the DAILY heat warnings and record-setting temperatures, I knew I needed a fan.

I’m not a huge Amazon shopper, but I wanted to see all of my options in one place. I wanted something that would be under $100, top-rated, and quiet.

Quickly, I came across the Dreo Nomad One Tower Fan.

According to the reviews, this fan was quiet and did a good job of cooling things down. I also appreciated that it oscillates and has a remote — there’s an option to get a smart version that works with Google Home and an app.

I also made note of the fact that you can easily WASH it. I hate a long-hair cat, so I know it’ll need regular cleaning.

The fan arrived mostly in one piece; I just had to put the base on. The setup was easy; there’s a booklet that explains everything, including the various modes (there’s a timer, a sleep mode, and a “natural” mode that works off the temperature in the room).

I plugged my fan in using an extension cord so I could easily move the fan to wherever I was in the apartment. If I’m at my desk, in my living room, or going to bed, I adjust the fan accordingly.

I keep it on the standard mode, level 2 (there are 4 levels), and I keep it oscillating — usually between me and kitty Blanche, ha!

I don’t think I’ve turned this fan off since I got it. Even at the lower level, it creates a nice breeze, and I’m able to keep my AC at 83 (I’m almost too embarrassed to put that), but when it’s 107 outside, 83 is pretty good, right?

A coworker said something to me about the fan likely using the same amount of energy as the air conditioner, but I feel like the AC uses MUCH more energy than a fan. Maybe just me?

Anyway, I definitely recommend this fan if you’re looking for one this summer!
