What I Ordered from Stoney Clover Lane x Target!

I know I’m not the only one who set an alarm to shop the Stoney Clover Lane x Target collab that dropped April 2nd.

I actually went to bed around 10pm Friday, April 1 (wild night, I know) and set my alarm for 1:45am — as the collection would be available at 2am.

The items from the collection were available for viewing about two weeks before the launch date, so you could get a feel for the things you wanted to shop early. I “favorited” the items I wanted to buy so I could quickly add them to my cart and checkout.

Even though I checked out at 2:05am, one of the items in my cart was already not available (it was a pair of green terry cloth shorts) and later, another item was back-ordered and not available (a set of packing cubes).

But, everything else was safely delivered to my apartment just three days later. Here’s what I got:

Terry Cloth Smiley Purse

When I first saw this purse, I wasn’t sold on it, but the more I looked at it, the more I wanted it and I’m so happy I was able to get it. It’s a round, pale yellow terry cloth purse with a gold chain (long enough to wear as a cross-body) and the embroidery makes it look like a smiley face.

The size of the purse was a little bigger in person than I anticipated (in a good way) and it has two small pockets inside for cards. The inside is yellow, too, and it has a gold zipper with a branded zipper pull.

It’s a completely fun item, and while I’ve always had fun with fashion, I have a newfound appreciation for it. It’s completely on-trend with bringing the 90s back and for just $20, I love it.

Terry Cloth Fanny Pack

I only have a few items from Stoney Clover Lane, but the one I use the most is my vinyl fanny pack. It’s perfect for travel and running errands. The funny thing is, initially I wanted to get a terry cloth one, but they were at a price point I couldn’t really justify.

But not with the Target collab! The terry cloth fanny packs were just $20, so I got a green one and it’s so cute! It’s very comparable in quality to my “official” SCL fanny — the main difference being a plastic buckle instead of a heavy gold one.

The green is a bright, summery shade (I considered white but with all the bronzing and SPF products I wear, turned to green instead) and I think it will be so much fun to wear. It’s lined, so if it gets rained on, I think the items inside will be okay 🙂

Various Patches

One main difference with the collab over buying directly from SLC is that… you have to put the Target patches on yourself. Yikes.

But, that didn’t stop me! I bought a pack of letters to spell “STUFF” in cute colors, a smiley face, a strawberry, and a rainbow with clouds on each end.

Originally, I wanted to use a majority of the patches on the packing cubes, but since those sold out, I used them on some cosmetic bags I already had at home. They still turned out so cute!

I am going to put the strawberry on the fanny pack.

All in all, these items are so cute and the quality is there. A majority of the people I saw posting about the collab online were so excited about it, but I did see one person saying some negative things.

I have to say, while I’m not a huge fan of Target (hot take, I know) or fast fashion, I understand and appreciate why the brand did this. I’m sure there’s tons of people out there that have always wanted something from SLC, but couldn’t justify the prices, and this made the items more affordable.

Sure, they are still just things — granted, they are colorful, glittery, and fun things — but they are just things that no one really needs. However, I know that… believe it or not… there are THINGS that bring joy, and that’s okay.

So, I’m glad more people were able to pick up a few fun things for summer. I know I’m so excited to load up my bags and wear them out… even if it’s just to my neighborhood pool 🙂

Were you able to snag any items from the collab?
