Longest blog title ever… ha!
Okay, I know I shared my 2022 goals a few days ago, and one of them is to spend more mindfully. A big part of that for me is to not buy stuff I already have.
I have a really bad habit of buying stuff just because it’s on sale (at Ulta), even if I don’t need it at all. Like, I’ll buy makeup even though I haven’t been wearing makeup for two years. Stuff like that.
Sometimes, I think I use this blog as an excuse to buy new makeup or beauty products, because I’m all… “I need it to review for the blog!”
But, if you saw my bathroom closet and how it’s overflowing with products I haven’t tried yet… then you’d know that was laughable.
So, here I go, into the New Year, giving you a review of something that I bought in 2021 and, you know what? Let’s see how far I can go with this!
I’m actually really excited for this product: Coconut Kisses Nourishing Lip Mask by Give Them Lala Skin.
Give Them Lala Skin is the skincare line from Lala Kent, mostly known from “Vanderpump Rules.” She also has a beauty line, but I’ve never purchased anything from it.
At some point in 2021, Lala announced a sale on her skincare, so I bought three products from it. The lip mask is the first product I’ve tried from that purchase.
For starters, I’ll say that I almost didn’t buy this product because I have several lip scrubs and balms, but no masks. I know there are some out there that are popular, but I was honestly skeptical… like wouldn’t it just be a thick lip balm to wear at night?
But I was sold on the Coconut Kisses because it had good reviews and it didn’t look like just a balm.
Here’s what I suspect is different about it: it’s got very very tiny granules in it that really exfoliate the lip while nourishing it in the buttery balm. It’s a true mask in that I probably wouldn’t just wear it out…
But! I did wear it under my mask when I got my booster shot and the nurse was like… “Do you have coconut lotion on?”
So, it’s coconutty, it’s a very light exfoliation, and has lots of hydration. I honestly LOVE this stuff. I take it with me when I travel, and put it on before bed. It feels like such a nice final thing to do to cap off my bedtime routine.
It’s $22, and you really only need a small amount, so one jar will last quite a while. I think the price is totally fair.
I would definitely recommend this if you’re someone who gets dry lips, especially in the winter. It’s a treatment that you don’t have to rinse off (as you would a standard scrub).
Have you tried a lip mask?
