A Review: Benefit Total Moisture Facial Cream.

If 2020 has brought me one thing, it’s a solid nighttime skincare routine. This year, I spent time organizing a lot of the skincare and beauty products I had stashed away in my bathroom closet.

I took a little bit of an inventory of what I had and vowed to actually use the products before buying more. I know this probably sounds really silly, but for some reason I have a history of buying products but saving them for “special occasions” or for when I travel.

Well, this year has been the perfect example of basking in the small joys. Why not pamper ourselves on any old day — after all, every day is special!

So, all of that to say that, I’ve gotten into a pretty good skincare routine and my skin is looking great. I definitely think the Total Moisture Facial Cream from Benefit is part of that — an nope, this is not sponsored.

You see, I really have a bad history of not moisturizing my face at night. Why?! I don’t know. I have always been good about washing my face before before bed, maybe using a toner and/or a serum, but I never thought much about it.

But now, I am trying out all sorts of moisturizers and night creams. The Benefit Total Moisture is one I tried before, but it was many years ago and it was just a small sample.

During the holidays last year, I used my Ulta points and bought several Benefit gift sets for myself (they are always such great deals) and one of them had the full-size Total Moisture!

I know we aren’t supposed to judge products off their packaging, but I just love the glass jar this one comes in with a faux cork lid. It looks beachy and fresh.

But, the cream… here’s the product description:

This facial cream provides concentrated hydration for a radiantly refreshed complexion. Our exclusive tri-radiance complex helps develop the skin’s water reserves and reinforces the moisture barrier. Contains mango butter, a natural plant-based emollient known to provide moisture.

  • Immediate moisture
  • Long-lasting
  • For normal to dry skin
  • 100% said skin was intensely quenched*

*Results observed in a consumer panel survey

The cream is a thick, heavy cream. And I say that knowing it’s not everyone’s favorite, but I absolutely love it. It’s not greasy and a little goes a long way. I have been using retinol at night and then follow it up with this and it keeps my skin feeling dewy, even when I wake up.

I haven’t used it during the day, but I’d venture to say I probably wouldn’t unless you have dry skin and/or if it’s in the colder months. I think it will be great for winter!

I will absolutely be buying this again. It feels so luxurious going on the skin and although the price point is a little on the higher end, the huge jar is bound to last awhile.

What moisturizers are you loving?
