A Review: Ulta’s 12 Days of Beauty.

‘Tis the season for advent calendars! Several years ago, my friend made me an advent calendar for the entire month of December and it was full of lip gloss, notes, nail polish and money — truly a fun and memorable gift!

I have been seeing so many different advent calendars, but I knew I wanted the 12 Days of Beauty calendar from Ulta. I am still on the lookout for Trader Joes’ 12 days of Beauty…

Anyway, I’ve already opened and used the products from my Ulta calendar, so I’m here to share the tea.

The calendar has 12 boxes in it, each with one Ulta-brand beauty goodie and it all retails for $20, which is a good price. However, I’ve seen it on sale many times for $12, which is a complete bargain!

Here’s everything that’s in the calendar (in no particular order):

• Jelly Eyeshadow (0.1 oz)

• Liquid Highlighter (0.15 oz)

• Eyeshadow Primer (0.17 oz)

• Chubby Lip Crayon (0.05 oz)

• Eyeliner (0.02 oz)

• Tinted Lip Oil (0.07 oz)

• Metallic Cream Eyeshadow (0.03 oz)

• Velvet Matte Liquid Lipstick (0.03 oz)

• Shiny Sheer Lip Gloss (0.03 oz)

• Chrome Eyeshadow (0.1 oz)

• Matte Bronzer (0.1 oz)

• Blush Duo (0.09 oz)

The look using products from Ulta’s 12 Days of Beauty

I started with Day 12 and worked my way to one, and the first thing I opened was the Blush Duo (one matte blush and one shimmer blush) and the shimmer part was completely shattered, which was a disappointment.

Then I was worried that all of the items would be shattered, but this was the only one. After I dumped out the broken part, there was still some left, so it wasn’t a complete loss.

In general, I think this was a fun thing to open and would be a fun gift. I feel like Ulta did a good job offering a variety of items that would fit a range of skin tones.

Once I got everything open, I did a makeup look using as many of the items as I could. I used the jelly eyeshadow, liquid highlighter, eyeshadow primer, eyeliner, metallic cream eyeshadow, velvet matte liquid lipstick, shiny sheer lipgloss, matte bronzer and the matte blush in the duo. It turned out nice and I like that all of the metallic items are festive for the season.

I also like that all of the items are mini or individuals, so they are going to be great for travel.

A win for the beauty junkies!
