When I first toured my apartment in Buffalo, it was nearly perfect — tall windows, heart-of-the-city location, walkable to everything, a historic building full of character. But there was one glaring downside: no bathtub.
I’ve always been a bubble-bath person. A soak in hot water with a face mask and a good book? That’s my happy place. And let’s be honest — moving to Buffalo, I imagined that would be essential for winter survival.
So when I decided to go with this apartment anyway (windows and all!), I promised myself I would find other ways to recreate that cozy, spa-like comfort at home. That’s when I started researching towel warmers — and I stumbled on the Zadro Large Hot Towel Warmer.
And now? I’m never going back.
Why I Chose This One
There are lots of towel warmers out there, but most are either tiny (only fit one towel) or look… well, clunky. This one feels luxe — sleek, minimal, and pretty enough to leave out in your bathroom without making the space look cluttered or cheap.
Mine is the dark green model with bamboo accents, and it looks beautiful against my black-and-white-orange space.
Plus, size mattered. I knew I wanted something that could hold two oversized towels, or more realistically for me — a robe and a towel. This one even holds slippers. Pajamas. Socks. (Yes, I’ve warmed all of these. Pure joy.)
How I Use It (aka: My Cozy Morning Ritual)
Here’s my winter routine:
- I toss in my robe, towel, and slippers
- Set the timer to the 15-minute option
- Hop into the shower
- Step out into the cold, grab my warm, toasty robe, and melt
That’s it. The 15-minute setting works perfectly — everything is fully warmed through and feels soft and cozy. As it gets colder outside, I may experiment with the 30-minute setting, but so far, 15 minutes has been the sweet spot.
And on really chilly mornings? I’ll use it even when I’m not showering — just to warm up my robe before I wrap myself in it over pajamas. It’s like giving yourself a hug.
What the Warmth Actually Feels Like
This is the main question I had when I was shopping — does it actually feel warm, or just slightly not-cold?
It feels cozy, legitimately warmed-through — especially items at the very bottom of the bucket, since they rest against the heated surface. It’s not hot or uncomfortable, just soft, warm, and spa-level comforting.
It doesn’t dry damp towels — that’s important to know — but it warms them beautifully.
Other Details That Might Matter to You
- 🚫 No noise at all. It warms silently (just a little click when it shuts off).
- ☀️ The outside does not get hot — great for safety.
- 🔄 Holds full-size towels, robes, blankets, socks, pajamas.
- 🕒 Timer options: 15, 30, 45, or 60-minute settings.
- 💡 Auto shut-off — no panicking later wondering if you left it on.
- 🎁 Would make a fantastic gift — especially for the person who already has everything.
Why It’s Perfect for Winter (especially in Buffalo)
Between the drafty windows and lake-effect cold, Buffalo winter can seep into your bones — even inside. But warming up with heated towels and robes feels like a daily luxury, even when you’re just at home taking a normal shower.
It’s not just about staying warm — it’s about adding comfort, softness, and a little bit of joy into your mornings (and nights).
It’s my little reminder that winter doesn’t have to be endured — it can be enjoyed.
Final Verdict
Would I buy it again?
Absolutely.
Would I recommend it?
To everyone. Including you. Especially the cold people.
Does it replace bubble baths?
Let’s not get wild. But is it nearly as comforting? Surprisingly, yes.
It has officially become one of my favorite winter self-care purchases — the kind that’s not just practical, but makes everyday life feel a little more luxurious.
