A Review: Who Gives A Crap Toilet Paper + Trash Bags.

I first heard about Who Gives A Crap from my mom during the early days of the pandemic—back when toilet paper was basically gold and store shelves were empty.

She placed an order and raved about it. I mentally filed the brand away and kept it in my back pocket. For years, I’ve been buying recycled toilet paper from Whole Foods, but lately I’ve been re-evaluating what I buy there and asking myself, “Can I get this somewhere else… for obvious reasons?”

So, I finally placed an order.

I went with the 24-pack of Who Gives A Crap 100% Recycled Toilet Paper (they also offer a bamboo version). I’ll admit—I was a little swayed by the colorful wrapping that the recycled rolls come in. But hey, good branding works.

And after using it for about a month, I can honestly say I really like it. It’s just as good as the other eco-friendly brands I’ve tried—maybe even better.

To be fair, I’ve never been someone who splurges on the extra-fluffy, cloud-like toilet paper, so if that’s your benchmark, your mileage may vary.

But here’s what sold me:

  • Double-length rolls (385 sheets!)
  • Super comfy 3-ply
  • Made from 100% recycled paper (no virgin trees!)
  • Biodegradable and septic-safe
  • And most importantly… no deforestation guilt

In case you didn’t know, more than 1 million trees are cut down daily to make traditional toilet paper. That’s a whole forest just to wipe your bum.

Who Gives A Crap uses 100% recycled materials and donates 50% of profits to help provide clean water and sanitation around the world. It’s hard not to love a brand that’s this transparent, clever, and mission-driven.

Oh—and it’s actually affordable. According to their own cost comparison, mainstream brands like Charmin and Quilted Northern are significantly more expensive per sheet than Who Gives A Crap’s recycled rolls. So it’s a win for your wallet, too.

But Wait—Trash Bags, Too?

While I was placing my TP order, I noticed they also offer trash bags made from 100% recycled plastic.

I’ve been buying a similar product on Amazon, but these are cuter (think: blue and green design) and also do a little good.

I picked up the tall kitchen bags and have had zero issues with them—no leaks, no tears, and they come with easy-tie handles.

They’re:

  • Made from strong, 100% recycled plastic
  • Tear-resistant and leak-resistant
  • Available in two sizes for kitchen or bathroom use

Finding eco-friendly bathroom-sized bags has been a struggle for me, so I’ll definitely order their smaller size once I run out of my current stash.

Why Delivery Matters

I’m not sure if this is just me, but I hate running errands. And with an unreliable car and a hectic schedule, I can’t always get out and about. Having these essentials delivered—without adding stress to the environment—is a huge relief.

Who Gives A Crap offers one-time purchases or subscriptions, so you can stock up however you want. And not having to make a last-minute toilet paper run? Chef’s kiss.

Want to Try It?

If you’re curious, I have a $10 coupon that you can use on your first order. Try it, stock up, and feel good doing it.

A Little More About the Brand

Who Gives A Crap was founded in 2012 when its three founders learned that billions of people around the world don’t have access to a toilet.

That lack of sanitation leads to hundreds of thousands of preventable deaths each year. So they decided to do something about it—starting with a cheeky name and a purpose-driven mission.

Since then, they’ve donated millions of dollars to build toilets and improve sanitation around the world, all while making sustainable, stylish, and actually functional toilet paper and home products.

To quote their site:

“We love toilet paper because for us, it’s our way of making a difference.”
