I’ve been working from home for a little more than a month now, and while I can’t say I fully “get ready” for work each day, I do wear makeup pretty regularly.
I know this may seem silly for some, but I have always loved putting on makeup and its one thing I enjoyed about working my retail job.
So when I got my WFH job, I told myself I would put on makeup at least a few times each week (likely on the days with the most meetings).
Now that it’s been five weeks, I noticed I put on makeup almost daily, and I’ve got a solid but simple routine that translates well via video calls.
I’ll share the exact products I use, but you’ve likely got everything in your makeup case already!
Here goes:
Skin prep: No matter what kind of makeup I’m putting on, I do skincare first, which is usually a serum, eye cream, and moisturizer. I’m currently using Derma E Vitamin C serum, Perricone MD Cold Plasma Plus+ Eye, and Undone Unfoundation Glowtint (as my moisturizer).
Note: for this quick WFH look, I use a tinted moisturizer instead of a foundation.
SPF: I have been getting better about using SPF. I’m currently using Tula Protect + Glow, which I love because it protects my skin from blue light and the sun!
Concealer: I do a little concealer to brighten and cover since I skipped foundation. I’m currently using Laura Mercier Secret Camouflage Brighten & Correct Duo.
Cream bronzer and blush: I add some color to my face with a cream blush and bronzer (right now I’m using an Elf duo that is old – here are similar options). I go on the cheeks, a little on the forehead, and a dab on the nose.
Setting powder and spray: Next, I set with Laura Mercier Translucent Loose Setting Powder — just a light dusting! Setting spray is optional here, but I use Morphe Continuous Setting Mist or Sun Bum Sunscreen Face Mist.
Brows: I do a quick brow tint with a Maybelline Ultra Slim Brow Pencil and any clear brow gel (I’m currently using CoverGirl Easy Breezy Brow).
Eyes: I use a powder contour shade in the crease of my eye (just a few swipes and I’m out), then an eyelash primer (Undone Beauty Lash Pomade) and mascara (Wander Beauty Mile High Club).
Final touches: I add a little more blush on top with whatever is left on my sponge from the first application. If I really need more, I use Milani Baked Blush in Petal Primavira. Lastly, I brush a tiny bit of Morphe powder highlighter (it’s old, but I linked similar options), and put on a quick lip (BeautyCounter Beyond Gloss in Magnolia Shimmer).
And that’s it! Once I got the routine down, it’s super quick — 10 minutes — and I look put together for my meetings all day.
