Hi there! I hope you had a good Memorial Day weekend. I got in some much-needed relaxing, read a few books, watched movies and made veggie burgers 🙂
At the beginning of the year, I made a resolution to try and be more eco-friendly, even if it was just in small ways. So, when I used the last disposable razor I had… I figured it was time to buy an actual razor that wouldn’t be tossed after a few uses.
I started looking around and I felt crazy that I hadn’t already done this. Sure, I’d had a few of those razors before, with the refillable blades but nothing substantial.
I settled on the Conair Satiny Smooth Dual Foil Wet/Dry Rechargeable Shaver. It was affordable (Amazon, $23), I liked that I’d be able to keep it in my shower, and I really liked the rechargeable factor.
Plus, it didn’t look too bulky or like it would be tough to clean. Here’s what the Conair website says:
Our Conair® Satiny Smooth® Dual Foil Wet/Dry Rechargeable Shaver gives you smooth results for those hard-to-reach spots. Twin independent floating cutters and foils work on wet or dry skin for silky smooth results. Two full-size trimmers provide the ultimate in close shaves. Plus, this shaver is rechargeable and comes with a charging stand and charging indicator light. A convenient cleaning brush is also included.
I’ve been using it for most of the year now, and I love it! I have really sensitive skin on my legs, and have always had issues getting razor burn or nicks. Not with this thing — seriously.
I have used it in the shower, in the tub and even just for a dry shave and it works anywhere. I particularly like using it in the tub because I can just dunk it under water to quickly clean it out.
I use it once a week, maybe two, and have only recharged it once, so I’m not worried about taking it on vacation or anything. Because I’ve never used an electric razor before, I can’t compare the volume of it.
To me, it seems a little loud, but I’m used to a razor not making any noise. It’s not so loud that it’s bothersome, just noticeable. But, I’ll take a loud razor if it means I get a close shave without razor burn.
It has the main part of the razor that you can use for your legs and underarms, and then two edges that you can use for trimming the bikini area. It does it all!
I should also note that I’ve just been using it with soap and not shaving cream. I’m not saying one is better than the other, but I’ve just never been good at keeping shaving cream stocked.
So yeah, I guess I’m an electric razor kind of gal now. Are you? If so, what kind do you use? And have you ever used one that was really bad? Just curious!
Thanks for continuing to stop by my blog, and especially read my beauty reviews. It really does mean so much to me. Now, let’s go make it a great week!
